The Crooked Cabin

Guest must be 25 years old and provide picture ID prior to booking being accepted. If you love the thought of being in the middle of nowhere with complete privacy on a dead-end gravel road surrounded by peaceful nature and animal sounds, The Crooked Cabin is for you! The cabin has 2 queen beds, 1 king, and 3 twins so it could sleep up to 9 if you’re willing to share beds. This is lodging only, no hunting. The space The family that built this cabin has a neat story; the story of the Seed Savers. Their passion was to save seeds from extinction; preserve the genetic diversity of seeds that were brought to this country by our ancestors. That dream started in this cabin. They built the cabin with lumber cut from this property. I have more details in the welcome book on the entry bench. They wrote a book about their journey, which I have with the welcome book for you to read. The main living area has a large, comfy sectional and 6-seater dining table where everyone can gather. There's an additional 4-seater table in the living area that can be utilized for additional seating. There’s a spacious, covered deck that faces the east meadow which is a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sun rise and relax in the evening; you might even see deer frolicking around. The deck has patio furniture, dining table, gas grill, gas firepit, and gas heat lamp. The main floor has 3 bedrooms (2 queens and 1 king) with smart TVs, workspaces and 1 full bathroom. There’s a ton of games in the closet of the front bedroom. The upstairs room has 3 twin beds, 2 fold out bed cushions, a TV, and an Xbox (this is where we stash the children, lol). We have 3-50 amp RV plugs between the cabin and barn for an additional $25 per night if your friends and/or family would like to stay on the property with you in their campers. There’s plenty of firewood behind the barn to build a fire and room to hangout in the “party barn”. The she-shed (in the barn) has plenty of camping chairs, a corn hole game, and a basketball to shoot hoops. The cabin sits on 30 acres so you’re welcome to hike around but no hunting please. A couple disclaimers: The cabin is old so you will feel some slight sloping in the floors…hence the name, “The Crooked Cabin”. Like most homes in this area, we experience lady bugs getting in. I call it the beetle battle. They gather in the window sills seeking heat and aren’t bothersome or harmful. There’s a vacuum in the hall closet if you feel the need to suck them up. Guest access The key is in the lockbox on the antique milk can on the front porch. Airbnb will send you the check-in instructions which includes the code before your check-in date but if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to me. You have access to every room except the basement. You may enter the basement to seek shelter in the event of a tornado.
