The Garden Bungalow

A quiet two-bedroom bungalow in Hatfield Peverel, ideal for a week away for work, a wedding weekend or a family break. Two double bedrooms, a full kitchen, a desk, fast access to the A12 and parking for two. The space The Garden Bungalow is reached through the side gate of our house. It backs onto open farmland, so it's peaceful, and there's a small park opposite. You come in through the kitchen, which is fully equipped, with a fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. We leave tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a few essentials, so you can put the kettle on as soon as you arrive. From the kitchen, a short hallway leads into the living room. It has a sofa, armchair, side table and lamps, and a TV with Netflix and other apps. There's also a desk and chair with a lamp if you need to work, and Wi-Fi throughout. At the back of the living room, the hallway carries on to the bathroom and the two bedrooms. Each bedroom has a double bed with fresh bedding, bedside lamps and a clothes rail with hangers. Both have a Velux window with a blackout blind, so you can sleep in or catch up after a long day. The bathroom has a bath and shower, with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, fresh towels and toilet paper provided. There's central heating and hot water throughout. Outside, you have a patio and a pergola with seating. Neighbourhood: The bungalow backs onto farmland, with countryside walks close by. The Cross Keys (food trucks Thursday to Sunday) and The Wheatsheaf (traditional home-cooked food and a pub garden) are both within walking distance. The River Chelmer and Blackwater are good for paddle boarding and kayaking, and Hyde Hall is 7 miles away. The bungalow is close to wedding venues: Hatfield Place, Braxted Park, Lion Inn, Prested Hall and Little Channels. Getting around: 5 minute drive to the A12 25 minute walk to Hatfield Peverel Station 10–15 minute drive to Maldon Guest access Guests use the side gate to reach the bungalow and its outside space. Check-in is self-service, with the key in the key safe on the pergola. Other things to note Check-in is from 3pm. We're happy to be flexible, so just ask when you book. Check-out is 11am. There's parking for two vehicles on the driveway, and a Level 2 EV charger is available to use for a fee. A travel cot and high chair are available if you're bringing little ones.
