The Flower Loft is situated over the top two floors of a converted 1900’s artisans workshop. Open plan with a bohemian romantic feel, this is a unique and charming stay. In the heart of a vibrant fashionable area the flat has spectacular views of the picturesque rooftops and cobbled streets surrounding. On Sundays the street hosts the vibrant Flower Market with pubs, shops and cafes in full swing. This historic neighbourhood offers a characterful East London experience. The space The corner property of a converted historic artisans workshop The Flower Loft retains many period features and all of its bohemian romance. Featured in Elle Decoration and as a backdrop for Vogue, House & Garden, Toast and others this stylish living space is also a sometimes photographic and artist studio. Follow us on @theflowerfactorystudio The loft has its own private entrance from the street with stairs leading to the 1st floor bedroom / bathroom and top floor living / kitchen area and outside balcony. Open plan with original sash windows throughout and high ceilings the entire space has an airy feel and enjoys abundant natural daylight. The bedroom has a comfortable double divan bed with 100% linen duvets and pillow cases. A footed bath and walk in shower are set against a soft plaster wall. Whitewashed pine planking lines the staircase with shower, loo and washing machine fitted behind. The property is fitted with old school cast iron radiators for heating. Oak stairs lead to the top floor kitchen/dinning/ living areas. Triple aspect windows allow for wrap around light and incredible view. The balcony is just big enough for a lunch on a sunny day and looks over the cobbled streets below. A large dinning table and couch along with Ercol chairs and stacking stools make a relaxed live, work, cook area. The kitchen is simple and well stocked with a new Smeg cooker. The studio is approx 1000 square feet total across two floors. We are in the heart of Columbia Road and the neighbourhood is vibrant. Just a short walk to Shoreditch, Spitalfields, Bethnal Green and Broadway Market. It’s ideally placed for transport with close by overground, underground and bus routes. Sundays the street hosts the famous Columbia Road Flower Market - traders will be setting up their market stalls around 8am. It’s bustling on Sundays and the rest of the week the street is quieter yet at times our immediate neighbors - shops, cafes and pubs can be lively. If you want to be in the mix of the historic East End this characterful London neighborhood is for you! Guest access Access is by keybox Other things to note The loft is in the centre of a vibrant area with a mix of residential and business' as neighbours. Sundays the street is filled with the famous Columbia Road Flower Market. You will hear noise from the market setting up early on a Sunday morning, the pub across the road is mostly gentle yet at times in the evenings it can be lively. Due to the fact it is a converted historic building the stairs are steep. Care must be taken. The property is not at all suitable for children under 12 due to steep stairs and sash windows. The loft is a working artists and photography studio and as such has a bohemian feel. You will find a patina on some of the surfaces, floors and window frames are worn with age.
