The space Eighteenth-century palace house on Calle Bolsa, on whose ground floor was the Almacén del Reloj, whose property was owned by León de Argüeso. The first documented date we have been able to locate referring to León de Argüeso in Sanlúcar is 1831, when he acquired half of a house-warehouse located on Calle de las Cruces, where a refining and grocery store called "Almacén del Reloj" had operated since ancient times, named for a sundial located on the building's facade. In this house, Argüeso will begin his business career at the age of thirty. A few years later, between 1845 and 1847, León de Argüeso would take over the other half of the estate. This property bordered, along Calle de las Cruces, with another house that had been owned by the Dominican convent of Madre de Dios, which was also bought by Argüeso in 1856, as a result of the ecclesiastical disendowment, leaving both properties unified in a single estate. León de Argüeso lived in this house for the rest of his life, along with his three nephews, the warehouse clerks, and the servants. This first commercial and residential establishment became the nerve center of his business, from where the entrepreneur directed all his economic activities. The Reloj warehouse was a typical mountain shop. Located on the corner of two streets - Cruces and Bolsa - to open doors to both roads. The premises would have the classic structure of these establishments, with the ground floor being subdivided into three areas: a tavern, a grocery store and a large back room for storage. The residential area was located on the main floor and the area reserved for the warehouse's service and employees was on the second floor. When León de Argüeso died, this establishment continued to operate with his heirs for a few years. In 1895, in addition to Francisca Díez and Juan Argüeso, nine other Montañeses were registered in this house: three single women and six men. At the beginning of the 20th century, the establishment was rented by Francisco Morante Sardina from Palencia to set up his warehouse; and later the bank "Herederos de Antonio Ridruejo", run by Casimiro Barrero Laya, was located here. Currently, there is no commercial establishment in this house, which was rebuilt in the 1990s by the heirs of Argüeso.
