Gorgeous little house with cap cod feel, right on the water. We call this baby "Water's Edge on Tainter Lake". Perfect way for a quick escape from the Twin cities, only 50 minutes away. Fish off the permanent dock on the water. Beautiful views and sunsets on a fun, active recreational lake. Short boat ride to Jake's super club. Some guests say its a "private location", but we are on a very active lake with houses close by. Please read our "other details to note" for more info. We want you to feel at home and be comfortable at our beautiful little oasis from the cities on the fabulous and fun Tainter Lake. We have a hot tub in the basement in a room that was the old boat house, which is heated and has a garage door that opens up to the lake. The hot tub is usable all year round. The fireplace is an electric fireplace, not gas. You have access to the whole home. Self check in with the lockbox. We are available by phone, text and email. We give you your privacy unless there is an emergency on your end. We are located on Tainter Lake in a cute neighborhood of houses and cabins. There are two restaurants nearby, one of the lake Jakes Supper Club and the Pioneer just across the street. Both have excellent food. There are three public landings on the lake and the snow mobile trail is just down the road. Ask about jetski and snowmobile rentals from Airtec Rentals that can be delivered to the cabin. Car is best better to drive around and into Menominie. Boats and jetski, canoes and kayaks paddleboats on the lake. Snowmobiles for the trails just down the block. Lots of local amenities in Menomonie from grocery stores, liquor stores, movie theaters and even nail salons. Feel free to ask for recommendations. Caveat: If you are interested in coming in July, Aug and early-mid September please note that the lake can get very, very green, which means water and swimming quality is not good. If you have a boat there are areas that the locals go to swim, but without a boat, swimming during these months is not recommended. Just to note: the house is smaller and taller so it has many stairs going upstairs and going to the basement the stairs are very, very steep. The outdoor sidewalk slopes down to the lake and not recommended to be used in the winter, but access to lake is still available from inside the house to the basement door. Our house is not recommended for those with limited mobility.
