Fuchsia Cottage is a real home from home, fully equipped for your everyday comfort, nestling within the peacefull harbour area but very close to the High Street shops, tavern, hotel and the acclaimed IV10 restaurant. There is also a fish & chip shop. A pleasant short walk away, is the famous dolphin viewing area at Chanonry Point where dolphins leap high to catch salmon. The"Crofters" restaurant overlooks the Rosemarkie sandy beach and serves coffee, breakfasts, lunches and evening meals. The space Fuchsia Cottage is a Listed Grade "C" building within the Fortrose Harbour Conservation area. The cottage/site probably originates from bef 1750. Fortrose harbour is a Thomas Telford harbour build c1814-17. Local people believe that the harbour was built for the embarkation of troops 1745 but no trace remains of what would have been a flimsy hurried structure. (ref Canmore). Fuchsia Cottage includes the original "Smithy" gable end walls now forming the rear garden. The outbuilding i.e. garage, laundry is not included within the rental and is locked. Entrance to the cottage is by key in the key safe on the rear wall of the cottage. Combination code will be provided prior to arrival. Internally although there is an open fire place in the day room and a small wood stove in the sitting room these are not available during the summer months. Please also note that the charging of electric vehicles from the domestic supply is expressly prohibited for fire safety reasons. Internally the cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, there is a double bedroom and twin bedroom. The bathroom is fitted with a shower above the bath. Downstairs there is a day/dining room with adjoining small kitchen and a seperate sitting room with TV.
