The Old Paper Mill

Peaceful, romantic barn conversion in the grounds of an 18th century mill house on the river Wensum at Lyng Mill, North Norfolk. Swim in the river or light the wood burner - get back to nature in this cosy romantic setting. The Old Paper Mill was once the drying room for a Victorian paper Mill. It sits on the banks of the mill pond, a perfect wild swimming spot with its own outdoor shower. It is bright and airy in summer but warm and cosy in the winter months. We love dogs, all welcome. The space The Old Paper Mill would best suit a couple or small family. The master bedroom is on the mezzanine with a king-sized bed. There is also a double pull-out sofa bed in the living room which is beneath the bedroom in the main space. Composed of a single open plan space (except for the bathroom) The Old Paper Mill was built as a Victorian warehouse so has the look and feel of a period warehouse conversion or loft apartment - but situated in rural North Norfolk. There is a wood burner, sofas, smart TV and dining area in the main space and attached to this is a galley kitchen as well as a lavatory and shower room. There is also an outside table & chairs and direct access to a wild swimming spot with a warm outdoor shower as well as great local walks. Sheets, towels and kitchen basics such as tea & coffee etc are provided as well as logs and kindling for your first fire. In addition to the wood burner, there is also central heating for the winter months. Guest access The Old Paper Mill is nestled in the two acre grounds of an 18th century miller's house in the Wensum Valley in North Norfolk. It sits directly opposite the Mill House (where we live) and next door to The Lodge (which is sometimes occupied by other guests) and shares the same drive, access and parking areas with them. It is otherwise a completely private space. You can access the space, it’s outside seating area, a dedicated parking space, the mill pond (for swimming) and a warm outdoor shower. There are also some wonderful local walks, a local shop and a pub which can all be accessed directly on foot. Other things to note There is a shop and The Fox, a decent country pub, in the village which are all within walking distance. We also recomend the lovely local town of Reepham for its shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Next door to the Old Paper Mill is another smaller space in which we also host guests.
