In the other direction from the railway there are uninterrupted views across the fields to St Bartholomew’s church and Cranmore Tower. Please be aware that the trains are not quiet. Steam trains (and sometimes the heritage diesel) run three or four days weekly (including weekends) from April - October and they sound their whistles when entering and leaving the station. The timetable operates between approx 10.30 am and 4.30 pm. The huts are situated directly adjacent to the stock sidings which can also be noisy on occasion due to maintenance and shunting of stock. When everyone's gone home though, it is so quiet here, all you can hear is the sound of birdsong! We have four dogs who are confined to our own garden, but you may see or hear them from time to time. The Kitchen Garden is also home to our six chickens who live in their own covered run and provide the eggs for your welcome pack. Please do consider all of this before making a booking.
