My retreat is within walking distance to beautiful Delaware, Ohio and restaurants, brew pubs, wine bistros, shopping, family activities, Ohio Wesleyan University, and the Brown Jug harness race at the fairgrounds. You’ll love my place because of the garden views, the comfy beds, the calm and peaceful surroundings and the bonus art studio you can get creative in! My place is good for couples, artists and creative types, girlfriend getaways, families (no kids under 12). My home is a split level home with lots of natural light and windows that can be opened for breezes. It is in a very quiet neighborhood and at the end of a cul-du-sac so there is plenty of parking and no through traffic. Updated kitchen with coffee maker, blender, microwave, refrigerator with ice maker, pots and pans and really anything you might need if cooking. As a guest at Restgate you'd have access to the entire home and outdoor space. When the weather's nice you'll enjoy the large paver patio surrounded by terraced gardens and lots of beautiful stones. A basalt pillar water feature and white lights strung in the mature Japanese Maple add to the ambience of the peaceful outdoor space. There is a gas grill and table with seating for dining al fresco. Typically I stay down the street when guests are at Restgate. I am available to set up some creative activities in the studio for an additional charge and if you're missing your dog, my Bernese Mountain dog Malley would be happy to come with me and give you some love (no charge lol). Please inquire about art activities and options if interested. I also am a flower farmer and have my farm just 6 miles from Restgate. If you are here during the growing season (June-Oct.) and want a tour or to sign up for a workshop, let me know and we'll make a plan. I am at the Delaware Farmer's Market every Saturday June-Oct. This is a quiet street of houses built in the '50's as faculty housing for Ohio Wesleyan University. My home was the home of a former art professor so has a light filled studio and other artistic touches. Restgate is located one block away from the historic Northwest Neighborhood which is a wonderful place to walk and look at restored homes with their beautiful yards along tree lined streets. You walk through this neighborhood on your way to downtown Delaware. There is Uber in town as well as a regional transit option. The house is less than a mile from Sandusky Street, the main street running through downtown Delaware. I'm a few blocks from the Delaware Cultural Arts Center aka The Arts Castle, Grady Hospital, OWU campus, and Blue Limestone Park. Lots of amazing things to do within a 30 mile radius including the new Tanger Outlet Mall (10 miles), Columbus Zoo, Polaris Mall, downtown Columbus and Ohio State University. This is the home of a Bernese Mountain dog so if you have allergies or other sensitivities, I'm not sure you'd enjoy your time here. The house is well kept and clean, but it is not a dog free zone. That being said, your own dog is welcome to stay here providing he/she is housebroken and not a chewer or digger :) The yard is fully enclosed with an 6 foot privacy fence. I do ask that if you leave your fur baby alone in my house that he/she is crated. That's for the protection of both your dog and my home. Thank you. I will also mention that there is a railroad track nearby, but trains are not frequent...in fact I don't even notice them anymore.
