The space This 100+ year old farmhouse is a unique gem – a modernized, country hideaway located in a quiet, friendly rural community close to activities and several university towns (Bloomsburg University, Bucknell University, Susquehanna University). It is 15 minutes from Geisinger Medical Center, a highly ranked tertiary care hospital, and 20 minutes from exciting Knoebels Amusement Resort (America's largest free admission amusement park). This home is perfect not only for weekend getaways, but also for longer retreats or convalescence. With all the amenities of a home-away-from-home – including a full kitchen, washer/dryer, large screen TV, books, games, magazines – you will be assured of having a comfortable stay. The four bedrooms provide ample space for relaxation and privacy while the tranquil pond and landscape will soothe even the weariest of travelers. During the winter months, guests may enjoy sledding down the long hill behind the house. Guest access Guests will have access to the entirety of the house, except for the attic and one locked room upstairs. Inviting spaces include a serene upstairs deck with views of the pond and a screened-in porch for when the bugs are active. The patio is a wonderful place to enjoy a quiet morning breakfast. The driveway and parking area are offset from the road and completely private. Feel free to explore the grounds, but be mindful not to enter the barn; it's quite old, dating to the 1850's. While the pond might seem inviting, snapping turtles are known to live in it, so please NO SWIMMING! If you have fishing poles and bait, go for the BIG one! We simply ask that you toss any catch back in the pond. Maybe you'll hear the frogs chirping as you sit by the pond! During winter the pond may appear frozen but please do not attempt to walk or skate on the pond. Feel free to explore the surrounding green space. The property line behind the house ends just above where the lawn ends, at the diversion ditch. The fields are owned by another family. Other things to note This property is beautifully situated in the country. Therefore, expect nature to visit! Deer, wild turkeys, snakes, groundhogs, foxes and lots of birds frequent the land. What a treat! Please do not use the fireplace, it is for looking only. THIS IS A GUN-FREE, SMOKE-FREE, TOBACCO-FREE PROPERTY, INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. Parking for trailers is in front of the white shed/garage across the street from the house.
