**Check-in on SUNDAY//Check-out FRIDAY or SATURDAY** Iconic red cottage situated on a point at Pickering Cove. Much admired, painted and photographed over the years. This picturesque New Englander enjoys water views from most rooms including the inviting sunroom. Stairs to the water provide easy access to gorgeous tidal Pickering Cove with southern exposure. Island dotted scenery to keep you entertained. Wildlife like Bald Eagles, Ospreys, and seals.Short walk to the Edgar M. Tennis Preserve. Via little steps the house can be entered. On the ground floor you will find the sunroom (with view of the cove), kitchen, bathroom and living room. The stairs in the living room will lead up to two bedrooms (with a queen and a full bed). The stairs are steep. The sunroom (living room) downstairs has a large sofa. And the living room at the front of the house has a twin bed. The bathroom has a tub with a shower, toilet and sink. The kitchen has an electric stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine and toaster. There is no dishwasher or washer/dryer on the premises. There is no bathroom upstairs. Cell phone coverage varies per provider, Wifi limited (fixed cellular). The cottage (ground and first floor) is for the guests. The boat house and garage are not accessible. We can be reached 24/7 and are having our primary residence in Maine. Short 6 minute drive to the town of Deer Isle. About a 14 minute drive to the center of Stonington. Short walk to the Edgar M. Tennis Preserve with a 3.2 mile hiking & snow shoeing trail in the woods and along the coast (a moderate hike). No smoking allowed in the cottage.
