Old Foundation Retreat is a quiet cabin property located just outside of State College, PA between Port Matilda and Philipsburg (Centre County). The cabin property, less than 1 mile off US Route 322, is entirely surrounded by tens of thousands of acres of PA State Forest and PA State Game Lands. Black Moshannon State Park is 7 mi/15 min., Penn State's Beaver Stadium is 21 mi/26 min; Penn State's Allen Street entrance in Downtown State College, PA, is 23 mi/30 min, and Altoona, PA is 35 mi/45min. The space The cabin is aptly named a retreat, as it is a getaway for its host families who use the property for themselves and their children to disconnect, enjoy nature, and friendship. Unlike many cabins, Old Foundation Retreat has running water and electricity. While spoiled with these amenities and with easy road access, it remains purposely rustic and kept free of TV, internet, etc. There is a loft with a set of stairs, so anyone that has trouble with stairs may best stay on the first floor. Guest access Guests will have access to the entire cabin. Other things to note The cabin has 2 separate bedrooms on the first floor, each with a twin over full bunk setup. The entire second floor is a loft, with two twins on either end of the loft creating separate sleeping areas. There is also a full size futon in the living area. Additional bunks may be can be arranged. There is a loveseat and gaming table in the middle of the loft as well. LINENS: Sheets, comforters, and pillowcases are available at an additional cost of $10/person for the booking.
