Ideal for all seasons, this mountain lodge, located on a quiet street with sweeping views, offers supreme location amenities, and provides a perfect basecamp for your Tahoe adventures. Families prioritizing comfort, convenience, value, and design aesthetic will love Conifer Chalet. BED CONFIGURATION: 4 bedrooms | 3 full baths *each bedroom includes tv #1 = King bed + en suite #2 = King Bed #3 = King Bed #4 = Bunk Room + en suite — play room with 6 twin beds (2, triple bunks). Baby Bjorn travel crib & highchair are always available on site. Kids Nugget brand play cushions we’ve used for extra kid “beds” when we have additional kids to accommodate. KEY FEATURES - Hot Tub on back deck (please note: hot tub care team are on a schedule and might service the hot tub during your stay). - Door-to-door ski shuttle to Northstar Village - 3 full bathrooms (two showers, one bathtub) - Fully equipped gourmet kitchen - Gas fireplace - Fast Spectrum WiFi ("Internet Ultra" at 1000 Mbps) - Ski storage and garage access - Access to NorthStar Recreation center (details below). - 5 minute walk to Martis Creek Trail (via Bitter Brush Way). - 5 minute walk/1 min drive to Northstar Golf Course. - 5 minute drive to Northstar mountain bike park - 10 minute drive to downtown Truckee! - 15 minute drive to Lake Tahoe (Kings Beach, Carnelian Bay, Incline Village) - Workspace available in Primary Bedroom - special note: like most Tahoe homes, there is no AC, the cool mountain air that greets every night is our natural air conditioning, but we have Dyson fans for those who like an extra breeze. ENVISION THE SPACE Warmth and style greet you in the mudroom, a perfect space to unload after your day's adventures, the coffee/wet bar will be ready for you to grab your espresso or refreshment of choice. Main Living Area: Enjoy living within a beautiful open floor plan. Relax on the Italian leather sectional by the roaring hearth in the cozy yet spacious lodge, turn on a family movie with the 65” Frame Art TV above the fireplace, or play your favorite music on the Sonos speakers. My personal favorite spot is in the velvet Saarinen Womb Chair, curl up and unwind. Living room and all bedrooms have Smart TVs, with Apple TV, Netflix, Disney+, Prime, etc. We keep our login creditials signed in, giving you access to our 200+ purchased movies on Apple TV as well. Kitchen: Fully equipped for home-cooked meals, including a stocked spice collection and essentials. Everything you could need to host holiday meals. The kitchen island accommodates 6 to enjoy conversation or the perfect spot to seat hungry kids. (We often enjoy seating kids here for breakfast and early dinner). Dining Area: enjoy a lovely meal as a family, at your 96” wide walnut dining table, or enjoy your favorite family card game or puzzle making (dozens of games available in buffet/credenza). Accommodations: Modern guest rooms, with comfort as our top priority. All rooms with Samsung TVs. Three rooms with king-sized beds completely furnished with Design Within Reach designer pieces, high-quality mattresses (because you should never sacrifice a good night's sleep while on a getaway!), Parachute-brand bed blankets, and light-flooding windows. Each King bed is a medium soft/firm: (2) Sealy Beautyrest and (1) Zinus GreenTea Foam mattress. The primary bedroom is an ensuite, large walk-in closet, and small desk to attend to any work you may need to wrap up. The remaining two king bedrooms are cozy with functional closets. The second ensuite bedroom is claimed for the comfort of the younger guests, with (2) triple bunk beds –six twin beds– individual lighting for each bunk, extra room for sprawling out to play, a large walk-in closet with drawers, toys and books for all ages and a large TV. (*special note: bunk beds exceed CPSC gov regulations to ensure our children are safe; no child under 6 on top bunk). Bathrooms are fully stocked with quality essentials: hand soap, body wash, shampoo and conditioner, toilet paper, kleenex, make-up towels, cotton swabs and q-tips. Hair dryers available in bathrooms. *XL Pendleton bath sheets are for your enjoyment after hot tub use* Outdoor Space: Large deck for grilling and entertaining is right off the main living room (outdoor furniture is seasonal May through early October); back deck features the hot tub and is accessed through the hallway. Practicalities: Garage space for two cars, driveway accomodates 4 cars max, access to garage through side door provides you winter & summer gear storage (mountain bikes, paddle boards, skis, sleds, etc.). ABOUT THE AREA: For the contemporary family seeking a mountain retreat with unparalleled amenities, Northstar California Resort seamlessly blends California "laid back vibes" with top-tier luxury. Positioned between Truckee and the iconic Lake Tahoe, this location is prime. As a genuine four-season village, Northstar's summer offerings are equally enticing as winter. Engage in the 18-hole championship golf course, experience the bungee trampoline, or explore numerous biking and hiking trails right at your doorstep. For a day at the lake, sandy beaches await exactly 14 minutes away. Also consider booking a few weeks and enroll the kids in the Northstar summer camp! Use your "Instacart" app to deliver groceries to the home (recommend Raley's the closest grocery store 7 minutes away), "Uber Eats" app for delivery/takeout, the seasonal Northstar shuttle service to Northstar Village, and download "TART Connect": a free, on-demand, curb-to-curb shuttle service that takes you right where you want to go throughout Lake Tahoe’s lakeside communities. So much more in our guidbook! A NOTE ON PETS: We happily consider (1) well-traveled fur babe, with (a maximum of one) who are potty-trained and content not being on furniture; put another way: no pets on furniture ;) No puppies unless 100% potty trained. No cats (we love cats, but one of us -the owner- has severe allergies). Dogs never to be left alone in home. Dogs required to be on leash outdoors at all times (this is a Placer County rule and applies to renters; resident neighbors with dogs may be off leash). Our cleaning team charge an additional fee that we will pass on to you. Is your fifth grader pet-sitting the class turtle over Spring Break -- no problem! Small animals in their cages accepted with written communication and approval. Hard "no" on snakes. For all pets, prior written communication and an additional fee are applicable. WINTER NOTES: 1) Please, please, please! Purchase trip insurance for winter stays (at checkout when you go to book), if a winter storm is severe and impacts travel, I understand the policy will reimburse you if road closures come. 1.5) 4-wheel drive with good tires are suitable for winter driving in Tahoe. 4 wheel drive with bald tires/no tread are as bad as having rear-wheel drive ;) 2) Free Ski Shuttle information available in detail at beginning of winter season, download “Northstar Village Transit app” and you’ll be able to easily enter our home address to be picked up at your preferred time (or asap, max we’ve ever waited has been 10 minutes), and dropped at Base of Northstar. They drive you back to the home from the base as well. Take note of their operating hours! 3) The inclined portion of our driveway gets slick with ice and we supply “snowmelt” in the garage for you to sprinkle in the area to help avoid sliding. 4) we contract the snowplow for every season, but cannot control when they come. Guest access You have full and total access of the home during your stay, including the double car garage located at the front of the home. Other things to note There is a keyless entry lock to the home which a code will be provided to you prior to your stay. Not to fear, if anything goes awry with the code, we have MasterKeys on the property in separate lockboxes. You will have access to our digital guidebook and house manual so you can enjoy a rejuvenating stay with us at our Conifer Chalet. There are *outdoor* security cameras on the premises (driveway, doorbell, back door camera gives visual of door only, not the hot tub) – these are for the security of our home only. We honor your privacy during your stay. Please Note: some items will be seasonally available due to weather constraints (e.g. deck furniture, grill, etc.). While we try to keep all amenities available as much as possible, we are not able to continue to offer outdoor amenities during the winter months, safe to consider outdoor sofas & dining table are from May - early October. **Also note: county regulations restrict street parking during winter (usually Nov 1 - May 1) months to make way for snow plows, so please park in the driveway or garage only.** Placer County (where our cabin is located) requires a collection of 11% Transient Occupancy Tax, you will see this as a line item when you book. We considered building this into the price per night, but came to the conclusion, we like pricing transparency, our guests most likely will appreciate this too. for more information google: "Placer county Transient Occupancy Tax" (airbnb prefers no web addresses are shared on this platform). If you would like to host any sort of gathering at our home, please discuss this prior to arrival and we will try to accommodate your request. WINTER NOTES: Please park in the garage to allow for adequate driveway snowplowing. We contract (2) services: driveway snowplow & deck shoveling. More on each below. 1) Seasonal driveway snowplow do their very best to reach our home in a timely manner, but we have no control over the timing of their plow. They will plow the driveway up to any cars (move cars to the garage!!). 2) Seasonal deck shoveling is semi on-demand (they come after the snowstorm): let me know if you would like me to have them come, they will need to enter the home to shovel the front and back decks. Alternatively, we have snow shovels if you enjoy an immersive experience and/or workout ;) this team also shovels the burm of snow that the driveway plow leaves at garage doors, front steps (although usually unnecessary), and can put down snow melt at the driveway incline to reduce car-tire slippage coming in and out of driveway. ***snow blowers are NOT for use by guests (no insurance is good enough to cover an accident a guest has with a snowblower!). For hired use only!!! The lower steeper portion of the driveway, is susceptible to icing over and we make "snow melt" available for your use/discretion as needed (in the garage). Again, for winter months we feel it is a must to have 4 wheel drive and all weather/snow tires in the Tahoe area (absolutely no rear-wheel drive vehicles during winter months!) **PURCHASE Airbnb Insurance at checkout for winter stays — this will be the only way to receive a refund if you must cancel due to weather impacting your ability to reach the property depending on your way of travel! Please treat our home with care and respect, as we do. There is a damage deposit for all bookings. Profiles that are brand new with no prior reviews, or have less than 3 reviews total at a 4.5 rating or less out of 5 will be required to answer additional questions. The damage deposit is fully refundable at the end of a reservation assuming there is no damage to the property. Please ensure the home’s belongings stay within the home and don’t find their way into suitcases ;) A note on physical accessibility: There are stairs to reach the front door, once within the home it is considered "single floor" but there are two steps from entry way down into the main living area. ----------------------------------------------- We look forward to welcoming you to Conifer Chalet and wish you the merriest of memory making!
