The space Important things to know before booking • Rustic structure: This cabin is grandfathered-in and does not have a traditional foundation. Seasonal shifting can occur, and floors may feel cooler in winter — cozy socks recommended. • Loft bedroom: The private bedroom is a loft accessed by pull-down stairs. Best suited for adults or guests comfortable climbing. Additional sleeping options are available on the main floor. • Water pump noise: You’ll occasionally hear the water pump when water is in use. • Pet-friendly home: We welcome pets and often host furry guests. While the cabin is thoroughly cleaned, occasional pet hair is possible. • Heating & cooling: Propane heater in the living room, electric heaters in bedrooms, and a heat pump for summer cooling and shoulder seasons. With hunting permitted in most areas of the Unit, except for a small buffer around the campsites, guests have ample opportunities to pursue their passion for the outdoors. Thanks to enhancements for fisheries performed by WPS New England Generation and a stocking program maintained by IF & W, our lake boasts abundant wildlife and thriving ecosystems. Additionally, temporary signage is placed around active logging operations to ensure guest safety and minimize disturbance during hunting seasons. ATV/Snowmobile: With approximately 20 miles of shared roads and another 20 miles of approved ATV trails, our property is a haven for ATV enthusiasts seeking exhilarating rides through scenic landscapes. Explore the rugged terrain and lush forests as you traverse the Unit's ATV trails, which connect with larger multi-use trails to the north and club trails to the east and west. For snowmobile enthusiasts, Squapan Lake offers approximately 35 miles of main artery snowmobile trails, providing both thrilling rides and convenient connections to other trail systems. Families will love the Ridge Trail (Trail 75c), known for its tranquility and scenic beauty, while Trail 75 offers a local route for making loops with other trails. Additionally, the Unit is intersected by two major ITS trails—ITS 81 for east/west travel and ITS 105 for north/south connections—providing access to the larger snowmobile network. Maintained by snowmobile clubs in the area and funded by grants from the Bureau, our snowmobile trails ensure a smooth and enjoyable riding experience for guests of all skill levels.
