Perfect for couples seeking a cozy, nature-filled escape close to the city yet far from the noise, where every sunset feels magical and every night inspires the soul The space Trout Springs Winery: A Rustic Vineyard Experience Nestled in the rolling hills just 20 minutes south of Green Bay, WI, and 20 minutes east of Appleton, WI, Trout Springs Winery is the founder and the oldest vineyard in the Wisconsin Ledge AVA. The winery’s story began in January 1995 when a five-acre pasture, left unused after aging horses had moved on, was transformed. The first cuttings were root-stimulated in a greenhouse, where they were carefully nurtured until they sprouted. Once ready, the vines were transplanted to the vineyard, with a trellising and irrigation system in place to support their growth. Each year the vineyard produces about 5 tons of grapes, of which roughly produces 750 gallons of wine. All the Reds are barrel aged from 7 months to 7 years. There are about 30 different wines made including a very rare Red Ice wine from 2017. TSW is also a licensed Trout Hatchery where Trout and Atlantic Salmon are raised and for sale. Steve DeBaker, the owner of Trout Springs Winery, played a pivotal role in creating the Wisconsin Ledge AVA, a federally recognized American Viticultural Area established in 2012. After years of research, Steve identified the unique terroir of the region, which spans from Door County down along Lake Winnebago, south along the Niagara Escarpment, and over to Lake Michigan. The AVA now includes 24 wineries and continues to grow each year. Today, Trout Springs Winery spans 5 acres and grows around 15 grape varieties, harvesting approximately5- 6 tons of grapes annually. Visitors are welcome to enjoy a wine tasting during their stay and purchase bottles to take with them or enjoy in the cabin or on the winery’s scenic terrace. *********PLEASE READ CAREFULLY********* This is a glamping experience—there is no running water, air conditioning, shower or flushable toilet.
