Traditional Maramures cottage

Traditional wooden chalet, spacious, fully equipped, located in a quiet area, close to the forest, in the heart of Maramures. This peaceful accommodation offers a relaxing stay for the whole family or friends. You will have the opportunity to admire the house, the surrounding mountains, the haystacks and the animals (sheep, cows, horses) of the inhabitants of the region. You will be close to Sapanta and its joyful cemetery (11 km), Barsana Monastery (28 km) and other tourist spots. The space The house is equipped and refurbished in 2024. There is heating and hot water. TV (on the ground floor) with Wi-Fi access. Free parking. Rustic landscape, in the countryside. Alarm and video camera outside. Not suitable (unfortunately) for wheelchairs, Baby cot available free of charge on request. Sheets and towels are included in the price. NO smoking and vaping inside and EXTREMELY important to be careful outside because it's a wooden house. Upstairs, the chalet is composed of - 2 very spacious and bright bedrooms - 16 m² each - radiator heating, hot water by boiler - each room is equipped with a modern and private bathroom (toilet, sink, shower) - bath towels and sheets are included in the price - large hallway with coat rack and wardrobe for storing clothes On the ground floor - 40 m² living room with fully equipped open kitchen and sofa bed (sofa bed for 2 people) - underfloor heating - toilet The house is located on a large plot and surrounded by distant houses where sheep, cows, horses are raised - very rustic landscape A railway is next to the house, but it is not in use. It still makes the landscape prettier. Possibility of paragliding. HOT TUB, SWIMMING POOL 500 m away. It is essential to arrive by car (own, rental or taxi). The nearest market is located in Sapanta - 12 min by car - very touristy village but more crowded to stay there. I hope you have a wonderful stay in Maramureș. Guest access If you arrive from abroad, the nearest airports are: 1/ Baia Mare ;) - 1h40 by car 2/ Cluj :-) - 4h by car 3/ Bucharest is very far away :( 9 hours by car Possibility to rent a car at the airport On site, free parking available (space for several cars). Secure places, next to the house. On GPS you have to type: DN19 764A, Sarasău 437265, Romania - the house is visible from the departmental road. I can guide you if needed. Other things to note Don't miss out on visiting: - The Joyeux cemetery in Sapanta - 12 min by car - Mocanita (old train) from Maramures - 1h30 by car on DN18 - Sighet - town 15 min drive on DN19 - PLAN 1 day of sightseeing, walking, restaurant. You can visit: 1. city center (planned pedestrian street) 2. Museum of History and Ethnography - one of the most important in the country and the 1st museum in the city (built in 1860) 3. Museum of the Victims of Communism and Resistance (housed in a former prison) 4. The countryside museum (Muzeul Satului) on a smaller scale than that of Bucharest) 5. The Astra Cultural Palace built in 1913 6. Religious buildings: the 14th century wooden Orthodox church, synagogue 7. "The Mill Garden" Park (Gradina Morii) located near a beautiful restaurant with mountain views Shows: Every year the following are organized: - mid-August a folk show (in the Jardin du Moulin - Gradina Morii) - on 12/27 a festival of Christmas traditions and songs is organized (very beautiful show, unique in Romania, bringing together traditions specific to all regions of the country and showcasing Romanian creations and popular cultures)
