Catskill Nest

Come visit our peaceful oasis in beautiful Catskill, just a two hour drive from NYC! Our charming Victorian farmhouse has been fully renovated with loving care. It is nestled upon a hill, protected by mature trees in a quiet, sunny, lush woodland setting and is just steps from Catskill creek. Enjoy peaceful seclusion with plenty of space for gathering with friends both indoors and out. The vibrant, artistic town of Catskill is just a short walk away. The space Our home features plenty of light and spaciousness while also feeling incredibly warm and cozy. It comfortably sleeps eight adults in three bedrooms with plenty of choices for arrangement. The common areas include a large living room connected to a family room with a wide screen tv and full stereo. We have placed plenty of lighting to inspire whatever ambient mood you prefer. The gas fireplace warms the space wonderfully. The rooms can be cooled with either ceiling fans or super quiet AC units. Large windows bring the outside in from every seat in the home so you can enjoy the beautiful nature and trees surrounding the property. Wake up listening to the sounds of birds. Sit by the fire pit in the summer and take in the starry night skies. Watch the sunset from the kitchen sunroom or the dining room's furnished outdoor deck in the evenings. Our eat-in kitchen is fully stocked with everything including spices, appliances, cooking utensils and serving ware. Host a big family dinner in the large, sun drenched dining room. Across the street there are two entrances to the Catskill Creek which is also a part of our property. Pick up a fishing license and take your fishing pole! On a hot summer day, swimming is allowed at your own risk. Four acres of private property surrounds the house. An additional four acres extends along the creek. The house has plenty of room to spread out and play frisbee, horseshoes or volleyball on the grass. Enjoy a drink and some food on the furnished deck or out by the fire pit. We keep a few adult bikes in the barn for cruising around town. You are welcome to use these at your own risk or you may like to rent a bike from the bike shop on Main Street (an easy 20 minute walk from our house). ​​There is a secondary unit attached to the house on the second floor with its own private entrance which may be occupied by another tenant. The rest of the main house has three separate entrances of its own and is privately occupied by our airbnb guests. The only outside space a guest suite tenant would share with guests of the main house is the parking space. All other property amenities included in the grounds are solely accessed by the guests of the main house. We adore the quaint little town of Catskill too! Our property is conveniently located less than a mile away from town where there are plenty of restaurants, bars, shops and galleries to keep you busy all weekend. Take a stroll over the footbridge and you will be there. There is also plenty of hiking in the region where wildlife, waterfalls and flora abound. Local seasonal festivals and events are also worth looking into just in case something coincides with your stay. Don't forget to check out neighboring towns, many just a hop and a skip away. Hudson, Leeds, Athens, Saugerties, and Woodstock are a few of our favorites. We love to visit the house when we can as well and never feel three short days is enough to do all the things we want to do! You may want to plan to return soon. We hope you do! Guest access You have private access to the home from three entrances. The front of the house has a hammock swinging between the trees. The side of the house has a furnished deck with a grill. The back of the house has a mudroom where you can put your things if need be. You are welcome to use all of these spaces. You are also welcome to use the four-acre property to play on the grass, sit by the fire pit and take photos. We provide lock access to the center of the barn if you would like to access bikes, to be used at your own discretion. The adjoining rental suite (not open to airbnb guests at this time) is accessed by a potential tenant via a separate outdoor stairway and private entrance. As guests of the larger and entire portion of the main house, you have access to all outdoor areas and do not share any of these (accept for parking spaces) with the guest suite. There are two driveway entrances to the house as the driveway arcs around the back of the house. You may park in the spots near the back where the sunroom is.
