Description
The Oyster House is a newly restored guest house in the upstairs of a circa 1796 house that is steeped in hospitality history. It's located on historic High St. in Cambridge and was one of the first hotels in this town founded along the Choptank River. A family of creatives has been lovingly restoring this home to contain two guest houses along with a future art gallery. We hope you come time and again and witness the unfolding of more beautiful history. The space The fourth bedroom has a Sleep Number Bed. Each side can be adjusted, but each guest must plug it in to do so. This is an old house, so some rooms have limited electrical outlets. The windows are all original to the house. Many do not open. Please be careful when you try. Guest access This guest house is the second and third floor of the home. There is an entrance to the main house, then your private entrance is at the top of the steps. There is a completely separate guest house on the first floor and a soon to be opened, art gallery. Other things to note *Must be 21+ to rent. PETS: *We charge a $20 a night pet fee. We do not allow cats and limit pets to dogs only. Dogs must be crated when alone in the house, and we ask that you clean up after your dog both in the house and in the yard. HOUSE NOTES: *We provide enough TP, paper towels, and coffee pods to get you started. Please plan accordingly. *The Nespresso machine takes the Vertuo pods (the larger ones). We also provide a drip coffee maker with a reusable filter. *You are welcome to use the front porch. If you'd like access to the grill, it's out back, and we are happy to coordinate with the downstairs guests. (There is one propane grill on the property.) *We can provide access to the laundry for extended stays. Please message us with the request.
