Central penthouse rooms on one floor of a classic 1860s wooden merchant villa in Vaxholm center. 3 bedrooms, fully-equipped kitchen, large living room. Sea views of the archipelago. Large patio with morning and evening sun. Nature, guest marina, restaurants, shopping, bathing beaches, ice cream! Everything you need is here 🌿 The space 35 minutes to Stockholm. 45 minutes to Arlanda Airport. Very close to all transport, ferry, bus, bike hire. Free private parking. The penthouse rooms are in a character 19th century villa rising above the heart of historic old Waxholm, close to the city center and the Stockholm Archipelago, a National Geographic prestigious ”BEST OF THE WORLD” destination for 2025. It boasts 3 cosy bedrooms, large country kitchen and spacious living room. There are 2 double beds and 2 single beds; 6 people sleep comfortably. Outside is a large patio with morning and evening sun and comfortable dining area for outdoor dinners. Bed linen and towels are provided. Ideal as a retreat for international groups on an annual get-together. Ideal as a work space for corporate away days with the benefit of overnight accommodation. Ideal for families accompanying professionals here for work and business. Ideal for relatives and friends visiting expats and international students. Guest access You have access to rooms on the penthouse floor and to a patio. To reach the front door, turn left at the top of the garden steps coming from the gate. When you reach the blue front door, just use the passcode to enter. Parking is at the end of the property with the sign saying "Privat Parkering". There is space for 3 cars on the parking lot. Please park closest to the apple tree and make sure to leave space for another 2 cars to the left of yours. Thank you. Other things to note What's happening: February: Valentines Day (Sw. Alla hjärtansdag). Early-mid February brings the first sense of spring in the air! The light is returning and the winter aconites (Sw. vintergäck) are peeping through the snow 🌿🌼 The Stockholm Winter lights are lit mid- November. The event starts in Kungsträdgården (very close to the commuter ferry from Vaxholm!). This is a unique and cosy time to be here, with the holiday season starting. Please do ask us for tips and ideas! Fully-furnished with everything you need. Washer, dryer, laundry detergent. Hair dryer. Bed linen, towels, soap, shampoo, coffee, tea, salt, pepper. Wifi and desks. Close to all transport to Stockholm, surrounding islands, and Arlanda Airport. Ask us about special rates. Advent, Lucia, Christmas and New Year are wonderful in this beautiful place. Peace and quiet. 1 hour to Stockholm with public transport. No car needed. Winter Vaxholm and Stockholm: *Christmas markets *ice swimming *winter kayaking *sauna *hot chocolate with marshmallows *Santa Lucia festival of light September and October around Vaxholm: *harvest festivals *crayfish parties (Swe. kräftskiva) Last week of July around Vaxholm features: • Grinda Day at Grinda Island. So much fun and things to experience for children of all ages, families and adults (only 1 hour by boat from here) •tours of Ytterby mine •live music at Tenö, Vaxholm and Grinda islands •historical guided tours through Bogesund Nature Reserve •art exhibitions •adventure-style activities for kids at Vaxholm Fortress …all within walking distance or short ferry ride! July & August in Vaxholm is peak archipelago charm with sunny days, salty swims, and café life by the water. The marina buzzes with boats and people and live music spills from restaurants. Frequent ferries to and from Stockholm make day excursions easy and fun. Restaurants and bars offer a mix of cuisines from outdoor seating overlooking the water and evening walks complete the perfect escape. Our place is perfect for a relaxed getaway whether you're a group of friends or family looking for space to unwind or someone working remotely who wants a change of scenery.
