Riverbarn Suite
Riverbarn Suite
Description
Welcome to Riverbarn, a cozy retreat nestled in the woods of Newmarket, NH. Housed within a renovated barn, this rustic *pet friendly* retreat offers a unique getaway for those who appreciate the simpler things in life. Riverbarn is perfect for couples or small families, featuring a cozy queen-sized bed and an additional futon if needed. Enjoy the tranquility of the forest, have a campfire, and/or take advantage of the nearby river where you can use our fishing poles and kayaks. The space Riverbarn is a very simple open concept space that consists of a bathroom/shower, a very comfortable queen sized bed, and a small living area with couch and television. It has a Keurig and coffee, a microwave, a mini fridge, and a small table for inside dining. You can also enjoy your dinner outside, on your own private deck that overlooks the forest and river. The studio at Riverbarn is adjoined with a fully equpped karaoke studio that can be used for an additional fee ( inquire directly w owner). The studio is separated by two barn doors and will not be in use during your stay. It additionally features a very Very tiny room -aka - the meditation room -- that has a full size futon which can be used for additional sleeping space. We have plans to make this room a sauna -- we just haven't got there yet! Please note that Riverbarn is not a camp, but it's very campy and it's meant to be that way! If you're looking for fancy accommodation - then this likely isn't the place for you :-) Riverbarn is not suitable for entertaining or parties. It is however perfect for couples seeking an escape, or for small families who want the camping experience, without having to sleep in a tent. We want our guests to relax and have fun, at a reasonable rate. We are intentionally trying to keep our rates as low as possible with the hopes that we will attract nature loving occupants who take good care of our space! At night you will hear tree frogs, owls, and a whole array of nature's sounds. We have a campfire pit by the river that you are welcome to use, though we ask that you keep it very small. Please note that we do live nearby, and will be available to help should you need something during your stay. We do provide a 'starter pack' of paper products upon arrival; however, once depleted the guest is expected to supply additional needs. Keeping it simple is one of the ways that we are able to keep our prices among the lowest of any rental in our small town. *Please note that the entire downstairs of the barn is Riverbarn studio, and the upstairs is rented separately, ie Riverbarn Treehouse. Guest access Guests have access to the grounds, trails and river behind the house, and they have the entire lower deck to themselves. Other things to note Riverbarn is a 5 minute bike ride to town where there are plenty of restaurants and coffee shops to check out. Also a 'cat cafe' for any cat lovers out there :-) It's a great place to stay for those looking to explore the Seacoast area as nearly everything (Portsmouth, the beach, etc.) is about a 25 minute drive, and there are Ubers if you have plans to have a night on the town in Portsmouth. *Guests should note that there are two units in this barn, and on this level, guests may occasionally hear footsteps from the folks upstairs. Although it's never been a problem, I put a noisemaker in the drawer next to the bed for light sleepers.* ** We do require that guests fill out a guest card upon arrival with first and last names of all guests staying on the premises. If in question, we reserve the right to see a photo ID. This is done for no other reason than security purposes -- we live next door, and we have children, so we need to be sure you are, who you say you are :-)
