At the heart of the flat is a stunning, open plan living, kitchen and eating space, with contemporary furnishings, grand double doors and four spectacular Georgian sash windows, taking in the unparalleled vista of historic Grassmarket and the iconic castle. Indeed, the integrated kitchen includes a cushioned window seat for taking in just this enviable view. The kitchen itself is well-equipped, stone- countered, with an eye on quality and style throughout and designed for a sociable, chef's table cooking vibe. Leading off a spacious hallway with coat storage, bedroom one features a king sized bed and the original in-built kitchen range, in a charming nod to the rich history of the building. An elegant Georgian sash window looks out at typical Edinburgh tenement architecture. Hanging rails, side tables, bedside lamps and a vintage chest of drawers with mirror complete a comfortable spot for a recharging kip! Bedroom two features a double bed, which can be configured as two single beds with advance requests, and another beautiful Georgian sash window. A large, built in wardrobe, integrated bed drawers and spacious bedside units provide ample storage. The flat has been carefully curated with original artworks and is wooden floored throughout, except the fully marble-tiled shower room with toilet. Guest access ACCESS ... The flat is on the third floor of a traditional, 1800 Edinburgh tenement building, overlooking the historic Grassmarket and with stunning views of the castle. It is accessed by the original spiral, stone staircase, numbering 66 steps (see Additional Photographs), with no lift. It is not, consequently, recommended for guests with mobility issues. As all our guests comment, however ... the view is worth it! With its own front door and self contained format, privacy and space is all yours. PARKING ... There is no parking with the flat and parking in the centre of Edinburgh is tricky per se. But there is a car park in Spittal Street Lane (EH3 3DY) , which you can prebook through the Apcoa website (£22 day rate @ July '24) and at Waverley Station (£9 for 3 hours up to £24.50 day rate @ July '24), which you can book through Just Park. An 8 or 13 minute walk respectively from the flat. Other things to note PARKING ... There is no parking with the flat and parking in the centre of Edinburgh is tricky per se. But there is a car park in Spittal Street Lane (EH3 3DY) , which you can prebook through the Apcoa website (£22 day rate @ July '24) and at Waverley Station (£9 for 3 hours up to £24.50 day rate @ July '24), which you can book through Just Park. An 8 or 13 minute walk respectively from the flat. CAR RENTAL ... You can rent cars from Waverley Street Station carpark. We recommend Green Motion, for their attempt to reduce their emissions! TAXIS … Ubers are prolific in Edinburgh, or taxis can be picked up at Waverley Station. To book in advance, we recommend local rank, Capital Cars. TRAMS … The closest tram stop to the flat is Princes Street, which is a ten minute walk away and runs from the airport (a 25 minute journey). TRANSPORT FROM THE AIRPORT … You can catch a bus or tram from directly outside Edinburgh Airport building. Both very simple and frequent and taking between 20 and 25 minute to the closest stop to the flat, which is Princes Street for both. It is then a 10 minute walk to Grassmarket.
