The space A perfect base for exploring Shap, the Eden Valley and the Lake District fells (10mins away). If you are a long distance walker or cyclist on the Coast-to-Coast route, Wainwright's Rest is the perfect stopover for one night (or two!), to rest and recuperate for the rest of your journey. Your mountain & adventure loving Hosts have put thought into details to make your stay comfy and welcoming! Balcony - West facing balcony with outdoor seating and table (seasonally available) with great views out over the Lake District Fells. Entry Hallway & ***NEW FOR 2025*** Kitchen - Shared access hallway accessed by your own key, which houses your kitchen facilities. The ***NEW FOR 2025*** kitchen includes sink, fridge, toaster, kettle, microwave combi oven, induction hob and cooking essentials. These include plates, bowls, cutlery, pots & pans, baking trays, salt & pepper, chopping board, knifes, tin & bottle opener, basic cleaning supplies, glassware & mugs. There is also waste disposal, shoe rack, mirror and hanging hooks for your belongings. NOTE: new photos of the ***BRAND NEW FOR 2025 KITCHEN*** now added to the listing! Upon your arrival the kitchen will be stocked with milk, basic breakfast foods (cereals) and hot drinks. If you have dietary requirements or milk preferences, please advise when booking and we will do our best to accommodate. An upgraded breakfast including juice, yogurts and croissants can be requested when booking and is subject to an additional fee per person. If you are walking the long distance trails, your luggage drop service can leave / collect your bags here without needing to access your private room. Bedroom - A comfy double bed (standard UK double 137x190cm bed), sofa, with a dining table for 2, this room overlooks the balcony and Lake District views. Clothes storage, hangers, iron, mini ironing board and drying racks are provided as well as TV (with firestick), games and books for those damper days. En-suite - Shower room with toilet and wash basin. Handsoap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner are all supplied. Plus handtowel and shower towels. The accommodation is suitable for 2 adults and up to 1 child under the age of 2. A travel cot (with mattress and fitted sheet), highchair (with table) and plastic crockery/cutlery can be made available upon request when booking for a small additional fee. Bicycle storage can be provided by prior arrangement with Hosts, subject to availability. Guest access The balcony with (seasonally available) seating and table are yours to enjoy. The hallway with kitchen are shared with the hosts (who will only visit occasionally to access other rooms on your floor - your hosts do not use these kitchen facilities), but is yours to store your belongings and prepare food & drinks. Your bedroom (with locking door) and en-suite are just yours to enjoy and relax in private. Other things to note Wainwright's Rest is on the first floor and is accessed by a steep set of external steps (with handrail and lighting). Unfortunately there is no step-free access available to the suite. Please be aware of this prior to booking.
