Nestled just a stones throw from the South Downs between Lewes and Eastbourne, a 17th Century historic character cottage with original features and beautifully furnished creating a wonderful relaxing stay from which to explore. Perfect for walkers, cyclists, artists and culture enthusiasts being close to Sussex heritage coastline at Cuckmere, Beachy Head and Birling Gap, Glyndebourne, Charleston and miles of the South Downs Way to the pretty villages of Alfriston, Firle, Glynde and Lewes. The space Characterful rooms with low ceilings, original, decorative beams and small doorways, (typical of 17th century homes) with comfortable furnishings and modern luxuries including power showers and high quality kitchen appliances. Step outside to enjoy the cottage garden on several levels with seating areas and views across the fields towards the south downs and over towards Mount Caburn. Guest access Guests have use of the whole house, garden and outside shed for bike storage. Other things to note As you'd expect from an old character property, ceilings are low and you may have to duck to enter some rooms. Some of the original floors upstairs are uneven under foot. Care should be taken using the internal staircase up to the bedrooms and outside in the garden where the brick paths and stepped levels are uneven. There is a private driveway and space for 1 large car
