Home in Charlton Musgrove

A relaxing hideaway in a stylish eco house, conveniently placed to explore South Somerset. You’ll have your own entrance, bedroom and library (which can be a second bedroom) and bathroom, so you have privacy in our family home. There is a kitchenette area for you to use with microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster. Suitable for a couple, up to 3 friends or family with two children. Maximum three adults. The space There is a double bedroom and a family library next door with a pull out sofa bed that can be used as two thinner singles. If no additional beds are required you are welcome to use the room to relax in. There is a toilet and shower and a utility room with our washing machine and storage in (access to the washing machine may be required depending on the length of your stay.) The utility area has a sink, fridge, toaster, microwave, kettle and basic cutlery/crockery. The rooms are part of the family house where we live, although they have their own external entrance and any internal doors to the wider house will be locked during your stay. Please do be aware that there is likely to be sound overspill from our day to day which will most likely include our seven-year-old doing one or several of the things seven-year-olds tend to do. But all within reason - we're not overly loud! Guest access A private entrance at the rear of the house with a key box. Keys can be collected and left at your convenience during your booked hours. Other things to note Places nearby and of note include Hauser and Wirth Somerset (7 minutes), Stourhead (12 minutes), The Newt (15 minutes), Longleat (25 minutes), Stonehenge (30 minutes). Towns include Bruton (7 minutes), Shaftsbury (20 minutes), Sherborne (20 minutes) Frome (25 minutes). Excellent access to: Longleat estate is all open-access for walks (except the safari bit) Stourhead house and gardens or open access on surrounding land (including Whitesheet Hill, Alfreds Tower and woods.) There is a footpath down the side of the neighbour's house. You go through three fields and you are in Penselwood, miles of wooded footpaths. Kids: Space Inflaters in Gillingham. Madjeston milk station just outside Gillingham - they have a playground, cafe, it’s on a farm so you can look at the animals and the home made ice cream is amazing. Recommended Pubs White Lion in Bourton is incredible for Sunday roast Smithy up the road is quirky for a drink. Hunters Inn is cheap and cheerful with good playground out back Bell & Crown in Zeals. Bradley Hare in Maiden Bradley. Bath Arms in Honingsham. Nearby stores: Wincanton: Morrisons, Lidl, Co-op (small) Gillingham: Waitrose, Asda, Aldi Kimbers Farm shop just up the road.
