Stylish Central London Georgian Townhouse

Description

Enjoy a stylish experience at our centrally-located Georgian Townhouse home. Our family has lived in the property since 1960 and our recent architectural award-listed renovation has created a modern, comfortable space within the building's charming historic setting. The house is excellently located by the south bank of the river. It's minutes from Westminster and Waterloo, Vauxhall stations. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby. The space Our home was built as a row of terraces in 1778 by carpenter William Head. It is a Grade II listed house situated in the Lambeth Palace Conservation Area. The house is set back from the road behind a planted front garden. There is also an electrically operated private parking space at the front of the property. There are five double bedrooms, all with ample storage and high quality bed linen. The master bedroom has a super king four poster bed and the room retains many historic architectural features. Each bedroom floor has a bathroom decorated with handmade tiles. A private living room on the upper ground floor exhibits the house's Georgian proportion and architectural details. The walls are lined with plenty of books and there is a desk for home working. The snug, kitchen and extension are on the lower floor. There is ample space for cooking, relaxing and entertaining across this floor. The kitchen has modern appliances including a Rangemaster cooker, Samsung fridge-freezer and dishwasher. The extension is underfloor heated. There is a spacious rear garden overlooking Archbishop's Park. It provides a secluded, private woodland retreat amid the city. We have a large dining table and BBQ, which make a perfect spot for enjoying the sun set on a summer evening. We are keen gardeners and have cultivated many specialist plants that sit below the canopies of mature trees and camelias. Guest access The whole property, including private parking space and rear garden. Other things to note The property is excellently located for getting around London. Train, Tube, bus, boat and rental scooters are all available very close to the property. It is very well placed to get around on foot, situated just moments from the River Thames and the Houses of Parliament. The South Bank, with the Southbank Centre, BFI and The National Theatre, as well as its range of restaurants, bars and cafés, is to the north. Even closer to home is the Lower Marsh Street, where a weekday market has a global offering of delicious food. Greensmiths, an independent grocer and butcher, is located here, with Little Bread Pedlar nearby too. Along The Cut in Southwark are a further variety of eateries, including an outpost of Gail’s (with a second branch nearby in Lambeth) as well as The Anchor and Hope, a wonderful pub serving excellent drinks and even better food. The Old Vic and The Young Vic theatres can also be found here, with their varied theatrical programmes.
