Guests will have access to over 640 acres of private land to access for hiking, fishing, mountain biking, cross country skiing, birding, star gazing, skating and nature exploring. If privacy and seclusion are important for your stay, you will have that in abundance! The space You will enter this beautiful, newly renovated cottage into a lovely, covered patio area with comfortable patio furniture, an eating area for cozy evenings sheltered from the elements. Through the patio is a spacious porch for all of your outerwear that opens into an open-concept kitchen and living area. The West-facing windows look out onto the gorgeous rolling greasy plains. In the living room you will find rustic, wood furniture and lots of wood accents with windows looking onto a wooded lawn. The kitchen is a large, open concept space with brand new stainless steel appliances and a little island. A back patio door leads onto a ground level, outdoor deck where you can sip your morning coffee or watch your kids play from the cozy rocking chairs. The yard also features an outdoor firepit area with free firewood and comes complete with relaxing Adirondack chairs, perfect for evening roasting hotdogs and marshmallows! The master bedroom, equipped with a stunning Queen log bed, is open and spacious with access to a full ensuite with both a shower/bathtub unit. The second bedroom has a queen log bed, with additional sleeping arrangements in the living area: a double futon and a single futon (perfect for the kids!). Guest access This is a whole house listing, but please note the basement is currently unfinished and will be locked with no access. Washer and dryer are available for guest use on the main level. Guests are free to explore our 640 acres of private land and utilize for hiking, fishing, mountain biking, cross country skiing, birding. Maps will be provided of the exact areas you have access to. Creek access for fishing, swimming and skating in the winter. We also have the ability to accommodate guests with horses. An indoor, 4 stall horse barn with running water, large outdoor arena, as well as horse paddocks and pastures are a short distance away. Lots of riding trails to explore and only 2km from the forestry boundary for endless riding possibilities. Guests must inquire about equine stays and pricing in advance. ATV’ing will not be permitted on site, but forestry access, with legal trails, is only 2 km away! Located 45 minutes from Sundre or Cochrane, 75 minutes to Calgary, 2 hours to Banff. Short 15 minute drive to the Fallen Timber Meadery where we can book you a private tour and tasting of their local mead products. 15 minute drive to the famous Water Valley Saloon. Other things to note Our kitchen is fully equipped for those that will be cooking and baking. Outdoor BBQ available for guest use. Let us know in advance if you will be skiing or skating and we will do our best to set trails with our track setter or clear the ice on the river. Please note there is limited cell phone service in this area, but there is reliable starlink internet. Another important note, there is approximately 16km of gravel road to travel.
