Group accommodation on nature farm

In the old cheese factory of our nature farm Huize Blokland, you will find these two stylish and fully furnished homes (one 4-person and one 6-person) and next to it a common area with a large professional kitchen for the whole group. The nature farm Huize Blokland is located in the West Frisian countryside with a wide view, space, greenery and a breathtaking sunset. A stone's throw from the IJsselmeer and the historic towns of Hoorn and Enkhuizen. The space The cottages 't Pekelhuis and 't Winkeltje are lovingly decorated by us, each with its unique style, vintage and antique combined with new and homemade materials from our old farm. The cottages Both cottages have a cozy loft with a good double bed.T Pekelhuis is a 6-person cottage with an extra bedroom downstairs and a comfortable sofa bed for two in the living area.T Winkeltje does not have a separate bedroom but also has a nice double sofa bed downstairs. Downstairs, all the cottages have a well-equipped kitchen and a nice living room overlooking our centuries-old orchard. There is underfloor heating, a cozy dining area, and everything is finished and decorated with a lot of love. On the terrace, you can enjoy the lovely morning sun, and through the garden doors, you can walk right inside. Both cottages have a bathroom downstairs with a lovely rain shower, toilet and sink. Common area The common area can accommodate about 20 to 25 people. There is an industrial kitchen to indulge in culinary delights, a long table or several smaller tables to eat together, and a terrace outside for when the weather permits. Here you can have drinks, play games and chat until the late hours. Children are just a stone's throw away, so with the baby monitor on the table, you can relax. Older children can find their own place in one of the cottages or in the stable. Outside on the property and in the orchard Our yard is large and is becoming increasingly green. We have already planted hundreds of trees, and we are far from finished with that. Our permaculture vegetable garden is a place to experiment, grow and flourish. The centuries-old fruit trees in the orchard are in beautiful bloom at the end of April and are full of old Dutch apples and pears between July and October. Our animals roam the yard, chickens, goats and cows, horses and sheep, and love to be cuddled. Everywhere you find seating areas, the tall grass invites you to lie down and stare at the sky. There are several fire pits where you can light a fire in the evening (weather permitting). In the stable The old cow barn now serves as a second common room, with a kitchen, seating areas, long tables, table tennis table, snooker, swings, reading material and games. Sometimes music is made. When it rains, children ride around on pedal tractors or play in the play corner. You can enjoy the morning sun behind the large glass doors. Guest access In addition to the group space and cottages you have reserved, you and other guests have access to the stable with play area, sitting area, tables and outdoor kitchen, the huge garden/orchard, vegetable garden. Other things to note Dogs are welcome for a fee of 10 euros per day and must always be on a leash outside due to loose animals (chickens, hares).
