Note: We are building our dream home 1/2 acre away, far enough to keep your privacy, but we do share the gravel driveway. The space 🏠 The Property: A Little Slice of Kentucky Heaven Nestled on a private 1-acre lot, our 1,300 sq. ft. cottage was built in 2024 as a retreat. We offer a quiet country feel with single-story living (no stairs!) and easy city conveniences. Local Small Town Charm: We are in the heart of Simpsonville! From May–Oct, enjoy our Saturday Morning Farmer’s Market at the Wiche Pavilion. You’re also just a mile from local gems like Little Mount Lavender, Weathered Oak, and Next Step Cafe. The Cottage: Easy Access: Self check-in via a secure smart lock keypad. Cozy Cottage: 3 bedrooms and 2 baths with extra pillows, blankets, and luggage racks. Stay Connected: Laptop-friendly workspace with high-speed Wi-Fi, a dedicated desk, and a monitor. Two bedroom have tvs. Restful Sleep: Every bedroom features room-darkening shades and a white noise machine to ensure a peaceful night. Fully Stocked Kitchen: We provide cooking oils, basic seasonings, and all the pots and pans you could need! Laundry: Full-size washer and dryer. Outdoor Living: Our back porch is the ultimate recovery spot! Soak in the clean hot tub, watch the game on the outdoor TV, or relax by the Solo Stove fire pit and play a round of cornhole. The "Goldilocks" Location: Minutes from I-64, we are a strategic "home base" for: The Bourbon Trail: Most major distilleries (Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey, Four Roses, Willet Angels Envy, Peerless, Evan Williams, Bardstown Bourbon Co) are 30-45 min away! Local Tip: Visit Evergreen Liquors or Liquor Barn for rare pours like Pappy Van Winkle! They will even let you take a photo with the bottle. Equine & Sports: 6 miles to Shelby County Fairgrounds. Easy access to the KY Expo Center for volleyball, basketball, and archery. 8 mins to Valhalla Golf Club, 1 mile to University of Louisville Golf Course. Day trips: The Ark Encounter & Creation Museum, Corvette Museum, area caves including Mammoth and Boone Squire. Hiking at the Natural Bridge and Bernheim Forest giants. Parking: We offer free on-site parking for up to 4 cars and have dedicated space for a 20ft horse trailer or rig (please message us to coordinate!). Guest access Guests have access to the entire cottage except for one owner's closet. The yard is available to use between the cottage and the metal barn. We frequent the property for maintenance and our workshop. The land between the evergreen trees and the neighbor's house contains the leach field for the septic system. Please do not use this area for parking or other uses. Other things to note Construction Update (2026): We are so excited to be building our forever home on the back half-acre of this property! While the cottage is your private space, you may see our professional crew working during daylight hours. We maintain strict quiet hours to ensure your stay remains restful and private. Driveway & Access: The cottage is reached via a shared, single-lane gravel driveway. Parking: Please use the two designated spots at the house or the additional grass parking provided. Trailers: We can most of the time accommodate horse trailers or rigs up to 20ft! Please message us before arrival so we can ensure the space is ready for you. Neighbors: You may occasionally see a neighbor on an ATV or us heading to our workshop—we’ll always give a friendly wave but will respect your privacy! Rural Life & Sounds: We love our country feel, but we are close to the convenience of the interstate and the local industrial park. Sounds: You might hear the distant hum of I-64, a train horn, or farm machinery. We’ve provided white noise machines in every bedroom for light sleepers. Critters: This is a 1-acre lot in nature. While we have professional pest control, you might see the occasional Kentucky critter (deer, foxes, or the local bugs) outside. House Comforts: Coffee & Basics: We provide a starter supply of coffee and basic kitchen essentials (oil, salt/pepper, taco seasoning). Hot Tub: For your safety and the health of the water, we ask that you rinse off before use and keep the cover closed when not in use. We also ask you put the sanitizer that is left out in the evening after the last use of the day.
