The space Our cosy artist's studio is a simple, beautiful and comfortable getaway for those seeking natural beauty and serenity. There is a small, wild, private garden for sole use of the studio with rustic seating area for outdoor dining. Studio Features: - Double futon bed with 10cm luxury mattress topper (NEW for 2026!). - Simple kitchenette. - Thermostat heating, plus cosy woodburning stove. - Generous shower. - Blackout blinds and curtains for a deep, restful sleep. - Set in a peaceful valley with spectacular views. - Birdsong and babbling brook. An enchanting slate quarry walk is accessible on foot from the studio. However, we are so secluded that you will need a car for anything else. Under 10 mins drive: - Daynes Farm; A small farm shop & cafe offering lunches and organic produce. - Nkuku; Lifestyle store & cafe (which was recently featured in the Sunday Times) with excellent coffee, cake and chic lunches. We respect diversity and guests of all faiths, genders and orientations - you are welcome here. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the studio. There is a small, wild, private garden for sole use of guests with seating area for alfresco dining. There is free parking. Other things to note The kitchenette is small but perfectly formed. Not intended for serious cooking, however it does include a hot plate, kettle, toaster and under counter fridge/freezer. Please note that the roof slopes above the kitchenette area, which tall guests may find inconvenient. I am almost 6ft and can manage with light use of the kitchenette. The desk in the photos is not suitable for guest use. However, the dining table provides ample space for laptop work. The following are provided: - Fresh bed linen & towels - Eco body wash and hand soap - Wifi - Wireless speaker - Hair dryer & full length mirror - Iron and tabletop ironing board Shoes are not allowed in the studio, so please bring suitable slippers or house shoes. The space is not suitable for young children or those with mobility issues. The thermostat is locked at 19 degrees in the day, and 17 at night. Please use the wood burning stove or the provided hot water bottles if you require more heat. Guests who adjust the heaters will be required to pay a surcharge. Please note that the property is adjacent to our family home, and as such you may hear us enjoying our garden at times. As we’re surrounded by countryside, you may occasionally hear wildlife or animals at night. Our place is ideal for guests who enjoy the rhythms of the countryside - birds, owls and other wildlife are sometimes heard at night, which most guests find part of the charm of staying here. The property is located down a narrow, windy Devon lane with passing places. Our drive is quite steep, and therefore not suitable for large vans.
