Get away from it all, when you stay in the rainforest. Only 4 miles from Ruby Beach, south of Forks, Wa. Camp cozy in a rustic, primitive wood-stove heated shelter. Experience nature with basic camping amenities and close access to coastal beaches and Olympic Nat’l Park rainforest trails. No electric or running water. Pack out garbage + toilet bag. Please read more below The space This is a --"Clean Up After Oneself” Campsite-- **Bring sleeping bags, water, firewood, light** Bring a sealed bin to keep garbage and food secure from animals at all times. Purchase wood from road-side stands, Forks Outfitters, or Queets Trading Post. Getting there: Rough 2 mile gravel road with large potholes. May seem long, bumpy and wet if not used to old PNW gravel roads. Higher clearance vehicles recommended, not needed. No RVs. Expect to take 10-20 minutes to drive road. You will pass neighboring properties with broken-down cars and trailers. A smile and wave is all it takes to be friendly. SLEEPING is: 1 queen bed 2 pillows KITCHEN is: +2 burner cook stove (fuel provided) +French press for coffee +tea kettle +pots/pans/paper plates/utensils +cutting board/knife +oil/seasonings +paper towels/soap PARKING is: 2 vehicles maximum Recommended arrival in daylight. Campsite: no lock or key needed. “HALF-BATH” is: 10 second trail walk. Camp toilet—"luggable loo" style bucket. Bags, hand sanitizer, toilet paper provided. Pack it out system. THE NATURE OF A CAMPING SPACE—possible mice, spiders, etc. They can get in the cabin. Keep your items secured in closed bins. —Helpful to read + download ahead the directions sent the morning before. This land is down a side road that has no physical address. Do not follow gps. Nearest town is 45 minutes: Forks, Wa. Nearest basic convenience store is 25 minutes: Kalaloch Mercantile. Nearest gas station is 30 minutes: Queets Trading Post Guest access Full access to camp shelter and forest terrain surrounding it, including creek access. The firepit and multiple tents on the lawn below the cabin are also part of your stay. Other things to note Rain gear + boots are handy (exploring creek trail + tide pooling). Slippers are handy—for rock floor if need be. Bring earplugs if sensitive to loud rain.
