Upstairs of Family Home

We consider accepting booking requests for this listing only from previous guests in our downstairs listing, as our upstairs is close living quarters with our family. This listing has several options, including a twin bed in our guest room. We can best accommodate singles. This is available on a rare schedule or for previous guests and family friends with whom we are most comfortable co-habitating. Our family kitchen has limited functionality and is overdue for a major upgrade addition . The space Travel in style and comfort with a more Human Experience! This is the upper level of a split level raised ranch family home. The air beds and/or couch space can be used in the living room for as many as 5 people, given they know each other and get along. ;) It's located in lovely Edmonds, Washington, just north of Seattle. Edmonds is "The Friendliest Town on Puget Sound." The property is easily reached and within walking distance of groceries, drug stores, banks, shops, restaurants, and even beaches and ferry and train travel as well as Interstate 5, but is a bit down a quiet neighborhood street. It stays warm in the winter, and cool in the summer, and buffers sounds from the rest of the house and surrounds. Home away from home. Launch pad for Pacific Northwest adventures of all sorts. Local. Urban. Suburban. Outdoorsy. Environmentally conscious. Sustainable living. Safe, secure, and peaceful location. Day trips galore. Road Trips with a base camp. Commute distance for business travelers to Seattle, Eastside, Everett, Kitsap, Boeing. Parking. Wi-Fi. Fireplace. Bike trail, running routes, commute routes. This is my home that I occupy, with numerous homestyle amentities compared to a stale hotel room. Terms for stay including check in and out time, and cancellation policy, are far more flexible than traditional hotels. If you are keen to explore, there are ample books and maps available, as well as an owner with a brain full of ideas and experiences. The key to this lodging opportunity is all the comforts of home with lots of ways to enjoy exploring the Pacific Northwest, at a rate at or below the nightly local hotel rate. Note that as this is a real lived-in home, it comes complete with quirks such as remodeling efforts and yardwork in progress. Please do NOT expect a 5 star hotel in décor or cleanliness. The home is clean and sanitary and, frankly, having lived here for almost 15 years, I think it is highly liveable and adequately stylish and comfortable. ;) Comes complete with your own personal PNW adventure travel advisor! Guest access You MUST replace the key into the same lock box upon your departure. During your stay This can vary. One thing to note is that the nature of my work makes immediate contact and response often challenging. I do my best to take frequent breaks (every few hours) to check for urgent communications. I do sometimes travel for work, and usually offer this booking when I am on travel. I may be in a variety of time zones, so please be patient with timing of replies, as needed. Guests can come and go with little to no interaction if they like. Or, for those more social, family style meals or casual social interaction with me are possible, too. I am an extrovert, so just make it clear if you'd prefer alone time and privacy or social time and interaction. It really depends on how much is mututally agreed. I've enjoyed meals and wine and evening social time in the backyard with some guests, and barely seen others, based on their level of comfort and interest in interacting. I am a working professional woman with a family, so I don't mind if you like your own space, though I am a huge extrovert and love to meet and get to know new people. I do also list the downstairs space occasionally on Air BnB, so you may meet others, if desired. Please DO let me know right away if there are any issues with interactions with other guests or occupants. Other things to note Plenty of maps, books, and ideas to share if your goals include exploring the beautiful Pacific Northwest and the metro Seattle area. I do reduce / re-use / recycle - so please separate your refuse and dispose of non-meat/dairy food items in the compost bin. It takes a village to take good care of our beautiful planet! Kitchen garbage is the blue can under the sink; compost is the green bin under the sink; recyclables go into the white can next to the refrigerator. Please use and replace liners to the garbage and recycling bins to keep those clean and not gross. There is no TV or stereo system upstairs. There is a small stereo next to the couch, on the floor, for radio. Please DO be conscious of the noise volume due to other people living in the house, whether me and my family, or other guests.
