Description
Unique, self contained lodge set high aside a historic moat abundant with ducks, wildlife & view of the Blackwater Estuary. Quaint Burnham-on-Crouch is mins away with its marina/wedding venues/seal trips, pubs/cafes/shops/cinema & Museum. Pretty Maldon is just 20 mins away. Here at The Lodge pubs/cafes are just up the road or you can relax on the decking with a glass of wine from the local vineyards. Secure gated entrance & private parking to the side grounds of the owners house. Car Essential. The space All on one level, cosy lounge with double doors to your own decking and fenced off small garden area for small dogs note there are no walks on site but parks etc are all 3/5 mins drive away. Fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, all the essentials needed plus a small dining table for two. Modern w/c Shower room and a vaulted ceiling double bedroom with ample cupboard space. There are a few steps on the decking from the front drive entrance plus there is a ramp. Parking is right in front of the lodge which is at the side grounds to the main old house. Car is essential as positioned just off of the main road (which can be busy) to Burnham with no pavements and no actual dog walks on site as surrounded by private land. Note this property is not totally isolated there is a neighbouring house to the side and rear. Enough space for two people and a medium size dog to use as a stop gap to visit friends/family or the surrounding Estuary areas or the wedding venues by the Crouch Guest access The Lodge is accessed via a secured automated iron gated entrance from the Main Road where you can drive into your own parking space to access The Lodge. (big enough parking space for 2 small cars) The private decking area and little fenced garden area are also perfect for one small well behaved dog. The owners house and garden is just across the ancient Moat. Please note The Moat is listed and has sludge plus algae and is not for dogs or humans to swim in or drink. Other things to note Gate entrance code will be given before arrival date. Owner does have dogs which will be using the garden across the Moat from the lodge. The Manual in The Lodge has recommendations of nearby venues for breakfast/dinner etc, but please note a vehicle is essential as nothing is in walking distance and The Lodge is off of a busy main road to Burnham. Wedding venues just 10 mins up the road and owner can recommend local Taxi Companies if needed. Dog Friendly allowing up to 2 medium sized max well behaved dogs. Please note the Main road to Burnham can be busy at times. This is a great little pit stop for visiting friends/family or a local wedding venue or for exploring the Blackwater & river crouch areas and villages around the Dengie. If you are after a complete tranquil, isolated place with walks from your back door this is not the place though you need a car but nearest cafes/pubs and walks are just a few mins drive away.
