Camp Thunderbird (Waterfront Lakehouse)
Camp Thunderbird (Waterfront Lakehouse)
Description
A cozy escape! This two bedroom, 6 bed lake-front gem sits on 110+ feet of wooded shoreline with a private dock and raised beach. Built in 1960, our family camp is a rustic retreat. Pull up a chair at the fire pit or paddle out on our canoe or kayaks. Just north of great hiking at Mt. Pawtuckaway State Park, where the Seacoast region meets the Lakes. A true New England getaway close to general stores, antique shops and breweries. Half hour to the coast. You’ll love our woodsy family camp! The space Our camp is located directly on the water, no packing up and hiking down the road to the shore. Just walk out the door. Features a pine bunk room with two bunk beds (4 twins) and a second room with two twin beds (6 total, made up with fresh linens). There is a full futon downstairs as overflow - but that guest will need to bring their own bedding if you choose to use it. We have a direct view of the sunset across the way. You’ll love our hideout by the lake if you love being among nature - and all that comes with it! Birds, chipmunks, deer, lightning bugs and fish! If you want to gather around a lakeside picnic table and play cards with old friends, feel the sun on your face while you make some woodsy memories with the kids, watch the boats go by as you grill to some tunes, and toast up some marshmallows around the fire with loved ones- our spot is for you! There are two AC units in the bedrooms as well as a grill and fire pit outside. We have a canoe and two kayaks if you’re feeling adventurous! There is great sun on our beach in the afternoon into the evening if you’re more into lounging than paddling. There are also puzzles, board games, and a carefully curated VHS collection should you have to kill some time during a passing rain shower. Drenched in warm wood tones and throwback floor patterns, the vibe is campy - the pictures say it all. You’ll find that Camp Thunderbird is a great place to unplug and take it slow in a busy world. (Don’t worry, there’s wi-fi and a flatscreen tv with a firestick as well, if you’d rather stay plugged in). Feel free to message if you have any questions, I’m happy to help! Guest access You have the entire property all to yourself. Other things to note No more than two vehicles per group, three if they are small as parking is limited. There is a park and ride 5 minutes down the road should you need to accommodate more vehicles.
