Description
Rustic country cottage in a small hamlet, overlooking an ancient wetland with a rich diversity of plants, birds and wildlife. Lovingly restored to high ecological standards, Pamushana is small and comfortable, featuring wild views, a fireside bathtub, wood-fired outdoor shower and toilette sèche, set in beautiful natural gardens. 3 mins from the famous medieval citadel Moncontour, 20 mins from the sea, 1 hr from Rennes and St Malo, 1 hr20 from Mont Saint Michel and 1hr30 from the South Coast. The space End of terrace stone Breton house in a quiet rural hamlet close to the medieval citadel of Moncontour. Renovated using natural materials - from mineral paint to cellulose insulation - people compare this house to a warm hug and usually marvel at the peaceful atmosphere. A couple of paces out of the door, a comfortable toilette sèche backs onto an outdoor shower, and there's a comfy bathtub in the kitchen-living room for those who prefer a steamy soak. The cosy kitchen-living room features a sofa (which converts into a double bed) and two armchairs, a wood-burning stove, dining table and well-equipped kitchen facilities. Upstairs, there is a gorgeous loft bedroom, with wild views and a double bed. Bedding and towels are provided, and there's the possibility of a laundry service - weather permitting. There is a second loft bedroom with a double bed and a single bed leading off, available by prior arrangement only as it forms part of the main house. Pamushana also offers a choice of outdoor living areas, for barbecues, birdwatching and exploring the wetland and stream. There are low beams, steep stairs and uneven ground - bring boots to explore the wetland. The garden is wild and untamed, leading down to the wetland with a pond and a small river, making it unsuitable for most children. An information folder contains local information, house rules and prices for firewood and fresh milk and produce. Guest access Private parking through a tight access way, outdoors space for bikes, kayaks, wetsuits, fishing gear etc. You will be met on arrival, given keys and shown around.
