Nestled in a quiet, beautiful country setting on Dooks Mountain, Lake View Cottage is the perfect base for exploring the famous Ring of Kerry. We've prepared everything for a comfortable stay—just bring your loved ones! Location & Local Gems: Outdoor Adventure at Your Doorstep Country Walks: Step right out of the cottage and onto fantastic trails! The two nearby lakes are just a two-minute walk up the road, offering a beautiful, safe, and tranquil walk on the 'bog road' with little-to-no traffic. Beaches Galore: Looking for sand and sea? We have three excellent options nearby: Rossbeigh: The most popular spot, offering horse riding, a kids' playground, and seasonal surfing, along with a seasonal restaurant and bar. Cromane: A quieter beach featuring the renowned Jacks Pub and The Boathouse Café. This is a seafood lover’s dream! Dooks: A truly beautiful, quiet local gem. Dining & Shopping Seafood & Pubs: Treat yourself to fresh seafood at Jacks Coastguard Pub and Restaurant in Cromane. Enjoy the lively atmosphere, locals, and live music on the weekend. Bakeries: Pop over to Emilies in Glenbeigh for delicious fresh bread and pizzas. Local Supplies: You'll find a Centra in Glenbeigh, and major supermarkets Aldi and SuperValu in Killorglin. Restaurants: Killorglin offers a wide selection of restaurants to suit all tastes and budgets. Activities & Day Trips Golf: We're a golfer's paradise! Dooks Golf Club: 5 minutes Killorglin Golf Club: 20 minutes Killarney Golf Club: 35 minutes Shopping & Sightseeing: Fancy a day out? Killarney & Tralee (35-40 min drive) offer great shopping. Day Drives: Explore the region with scenic drives to Dingle (1 hr / 64 km), Valentia Island (50 min / 52 km), and Cahersiveen (30 min / 32 km). The Cottage Details: The house comfortably sleeps up to 10 guests across five bedrooms. Bedrooms: Bedroom One (Upstairs): King-size Bed, shared Jack-and-Jill Ensuite (shower). Bedroom Two (Upstairs): King-size Bed, shared Jack-and-Jill Ensuite (shower). Bedroom Three (Downstairs): King-size Bed, Private Ensuite (shower). Bedroom Four (Downstairs): Two Single Beds. Bedroom Five (Downstairs): Two Single Beds. Main Downstairs Bathroom: Features a shower with disability access and a full bath. Living Areas & Amenities: Kitchen & Dining: Features a gas hob, wall oven, microwave, coffee machine, toaster, and all necessary kitchenware. The dining table seats six, with three additional spots at the kitchen bar. (More chairs and a baby high chair are available). Living Room: A cozy space with a TV, comfortable seating, and a Wood Burning Stove. Wood and turf are supplied (more available on request). Sunroom: A bright area located just off the kitchen with wicker furniture for relaxing. Utility Room: Equipped with two washing machines and an airing cupboard with a dryer. Outdoor Space: Enjoy the garden with a barbecue, picnic bench, umbrella, and washing line. Connectivity: The house is equipped with Wi-Fi. Toddler & Child Friendly We welcome families! The house is equipped with a crib, a high chair, and two fitted stair gates (top and bottom) for the safety of your little ones. Workspace Need to work remotely? Just request it at the time of reservation, and we will set up a desk and office chair at no extra charge. Guest Information & Policies Your Hosts: The property is managed by me online, but you will be warmly looked after by my parents, David and Theresa, who live a couple of houses away and are available from arrival to check-out. Smoking Policy: We kindly ask that you strictly smoke outside the house. No smoking is permitted inside. Guest Capacity: The house sleeps up to 10 people. For parties greater than six, we require a few more details about your group. An extra guest fee of €25 per person per night applies after six guests. We are also open to accommodating groups larger than 10; please message us to discuss arrangements. Lake View Note: While we are called Lake View, the trees have grown taller! However, you can see the lakes just a two-minute walk up the road.
