It has excellent access to footpaths and is within walking distance of 2 local pubs. Enjoy the benefit of your own shower, toilet and kitchenette. A firepit, outdoor seating and barbeque are available to make the most of the surroundings. Ideal for walkers or just to escape the bustle of everyday life. The space Come and stay at Bluebell Retreat, our beautiful shepherds hut nestled in woodland in Plumpton. on the outskirts of the South Downs National Park. Our latitude and longitude is 50.944180, -0.063906. what3words says we are at barbarian.hills.obvious Plumpton is a small, friendly village spreading north from the foot of the South Downs, 5 miles from Lewes, the historic county town of Sussex, and only a 15 minute drive from Brighton. The accommodation offers peace, tranquility and an immersive experience in nature including deer, birds of prey and woodpeckers. It is the perfect place for a romantic retreat or escape from urban living within the beautiful South Downs near Lewes, close to Ditchling, Glyndebourne and Firle. It is in a rural setting and our parking area is 150 metres away over slightly uneven ground. Wellies are recommended in wet weather as it can be damp underfoot. The shepherds hut has a living/sleeping space with a small fridge and two burner electric hob. Please note there are sockets/plugs for electrical items like phone chargers or hairdryers, but we are in the middle of the countryside so fairly remote. The water however comes from the mains water supply so is drinkable There is a pull down table (please be careful as it can be a bit stiff) if the weather isn’t suitable for al fresco dining! The bed is a super comfortable double. The bathroom is within the hut in a separate room and has a good shower with towels and shower gel provided. There is also proper flushing toilet but please do not put anything but toilet tissue down it as it easily gets blocked. Guest access The shepherds hut isn’t easily accessed using public transport. There is plenty of free parking onsite for cars and bicycles The ground around the hut is fairly uneven and rustic and you are surrounded by trees. There is a small decking area in front of the hut which is raised up from the ground, accessed by some wooden steps. Other things to note Although there is no internet access in the Shepherd's hut wi fi can be accessed from the driveway if we supply the password. We also have heating in the hut so it still feels warm and cosy in the colder months.
