For the chillier months there is a log burner in the living room as well as central heating. There is a TV in the lounge and Bluetooth speaker in the living room so you can relax to your own play list Guest access Guests have access to the whole property and a private garden. Other things to note Our house is a Georgian double fronted cottage with slate floors, open fires and exposed stone walls . It is situated in Helston, a Cornish town with a rich heritage - full of character, ancient traditions, many medieval and Georgian buildings and plenty of quirky details . One place we recommend you visit whilst in Helston is the cosy 15th century Blue Anchor pub which as well as live music (including a weekly folk night) and a warren of tiny rooms to explore also brews its own beer (Spingo). Picturesque Porthleven is around 2 miles away – you can catch a bus ( from outside the Blue Anchor) or you can take a walk through Helston town and across the gorgeous Penrose estate – through ancient woodland and a coastal path taking in shimmering views of Loe Pool before reaching Porthleven where there is a sandy beach and a small harbour surrounded by a number of independent shops and galleries as well as some lovely restaurants – Porthleven hosts a food festival in April and has a reputation for being the place to go for those who enjoy good food – we particularly recommend The Square. We are also ideally located for exploring the seaside towns of St Ives (Tate St Ives), Penzance (Jubilee Pool - a naturally heated sea pool and lido) and Falmouth (Maritime Museum and Pendennis castle) as well the beautiful Helford Passage, Lizard peninsula and St Michaels Mount. The small city of Truro, with its Cathedral, Hall for Cornwall arts venue, shops, restaurants etc is around a 30 minute drive away.
