Modja Modja House is more than an Airbnb—it’s a design-led stay with Japanese-influenced interiors where comfort and creativity meet. Room Two has shoji screens by Rio Kobayashi, an organic wool bed and spa-like shower room. A calming sound machine by Yuri Suzuki and warm sunset light complete the stay. Each morning enjoy complimentary breakfast in the art-filled dining room. The Times calls it “about as boutique as guesthouses get. Stay here and they’ll help you plug into the town’s art scene.” The space Modja Modja House is a fresh take on the seaside bed and breakfast experience, founded by Artist and Curator Amy Croft. Every detail you will find, marks a point in this project's journey –symbolising friendships and commissions, acknowledging local brands, and celebrating iconic design pieces– all of which we hope will become a step in your own uncurbed exploration! Through the dining room, hallways and bedrooms you will see origional artworks from friends of Modja Modja House, including Åbäke, Tomoko Azumi, Martin Beck, Amy Croft, Philippe Dupuy, Jutta Goessl, Rio Kobayashi, Tony Mullin and Yuri Suzuki to mention a few. Additionally in every bedroom you will find handmade organic wool mattresses & beds from Naturalmat. Prioritizing sustainability, quality craftsmanship, and natural ingredients over unnecessary extravagance. Breakfast is served from 9am in our dining area and includes freshly baked croissants from a neighbourhood bakery Oast, seasonal fruit with yoghurt and freshly ground coffees or teas. The experience of breakfast is enhanced when served on Mervyn Gers hand crafted ceramics.
