Barn at the powder mill
Barn at the powder mill
Description
Pure relaxation in this completely newly built apartment (2024) in a barn on the edge of the forest in the Windecker Ländchen – with a pellet stove, skylights to the starry sky, two cozy bedrooms, a loft with a workstation and a sleeping area. The fully equipped kitchen invites you to cook together (incl. Dishwasher) and on the terrace in front of the barn you can have breakfast, grill or just relax in peace. The space On around 75 m², a newly built apartment is spread over 3 floors: from the hallway on the ground floor - where you can leave jackets and shoes - you can reach the 1st floor with spacious kitchen-living room and cozy pellet stove, dining table, sofa bed, bedroom with double bed (1.8 m wide) as well as a bathroom with walk-in shower. From the living/kitchen, a staircase leads you up to the attic floor to the open gallery with a workstation and a single bed. From the gallery, you go through a gnome door (Attention: Risk of bumping your head!) into the spacious sleeping bunk (2.1 m high in the middle), which is equipped with two flexibly movable 1.2 m beds. From the skylights, you can marvel at the starry sky and the forest. Both bedrooms can be completely darkened - the loft (Bedroom 3) is separated from the room by a railing and cannot be darkened. In the apartment you will find everything you need for a pleasant stay: a fully equipped kitchen (incl. Dishwasher, stove, oven, fridge incl. Freezer) , plenty of dishes, hair dryer, towels and soda streamer. Children or baby equipment is available (plastic dishes & cutlery, wipeable tablecloth, high chair, baby bed - on request stair and pellet stove grill). We completed the apartment in 2024. We have placed particular emphasis on sustainable and resource-efficient use of materials (ecological insulation material, natural wood floor, refurbished old wooden doors from residential building). With the pellet stove, we have chosen a sustainable heating method. Thanks to the insulated floor, walls and roof, the heat keeps the heat in the apartment great – and in the summer it stays nice and cool. If it should be too fresh for you in the rooms or in the bathroom, we have provided you with small electric heaters powered by electricity. For the cyclists and e-bikers among you: You are welcome to store your bikes in our garage below the apartment – and to charge them. The apartment is a non-smoking apartment. You are welcome to smoke outside on the terrace. No pets are allowed. Guest access Of course, you can fully use the apartment in the barn (below is our shed) and you are welcome to grill and chill on the terrace between the barn and our house. And turn on the fire bowl. Entrance is located on the left side of the barn. By the way, our house is right next door, so we'll probably run into each other at some point, and you're welcome to come to us if you have any questions. Other things to note WINDECKER LÄNDCHEN ************************ The Windecker Ländchen is a region where you can still experience nature quite originally. Forests, rolling hills, and victory characterize the landscape – sometimes quiet and dreamy, sometimes lively and full of little experiences. There is a lot to discover in the immediate vicinity of the apartment (in brackets the distance information). Directly behind the apartment, the Nutscheid begins the largest contiguous forest area in the Bergisches Land and the victory also meanders directly around the corner (900 m). Numerous hiking trails run in the immediate neighborhood of the apartment. The Siegsteig is only 1.2 km away and access to several circular hiking trails (adventure trails) are easily accessible on foot. Sights such as Windeck Castle (1.5 km), the Pulvermühle (400 m), Dattenfeld Castle (800 m), Siegtaldom (1 km) and Museumsdorf Altwindeck (900 m) are within walking distance. Victory accompanies you in many ways: whether you take a walk on the shore, a bike ride through the valley or a hike overlooking the river – the outskirts are just part of it here. Again and again, new views open up, which slow you down and make you forget about everyday life very quickly. Historic places, such as the city of Blankenberg, old castle ruins such as the castle Windeck, small villages and hidden favorite places (incl. Beer garden, cafe or an event) invite you to linger and enjoy. More information can be found in the tourist brochures, which you are also welcome to take with you, to win a windbreaker and to the nature region or visit the tourism office in Schladern (directly at Siegwasserfall). We are also happy to provide you with tips for excursions and hikes with refreshments that are exactly tailored to your group and the weather - if we are on the road, we are also happy to do so by phone or email. The S-Bahn (suburban train) station Dattenfeld can be reached in 15 minutes on foot and the RE train station Schladern in about 25 minutes. The bus stops "Elisentalstraße" and "Übersetzigerstraße" are about 10 minutes away. Just so you know, the victory line will be completely closed from December 11, 2026 to July 9, 2027, between Hennef (Victory) and Siegen. Of course, you can also reach us in time by rail replacement transport. ------------------------------------------- EXCURSIONS AROUND ******************************* • Nümbrecht: Nice village center with half-timbered charm, beautiful little shops and great gastronomy (e.g. Italian Quattro Stagioni, upscale restaurant Manufaktur, Café O'Berg and bakery and cafe "panpan").
