The space The apartment, located on the first floor of an old building, offers a spacious and bright environment. Equipped with a robust air conditioner in the living room, if you keep the doors open you can achieve a pleasant temperature in the entire apartment allowing you to rest even during the hottest months. The kitchen is fully equipped to allow you to prepare your favorite meals, while the cozy living room is the perfect place to spend evenings with friends or enjoy a movie after a long day. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed and a small one with a single bed and desk. In the living room you will also find a comfortable sofa bed suitable for two people, offering additional accommodation options for larger groups or families. The bathroom, complete with shower, offers you a clean and comfortable environment to refresh and prepare for your daily adventures. In addition, there is a laundry area with washing machine available, shared with guests on the first floor, to ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. But the real jewel of this space is the small private terrace. Perfect for relaxing outdoors or enjoying breakfast in the sun, the garden adds a peaceful touch to your stay. Guest access The main entrance to the building is shared with guests on the ground floor as is the laundry area located at the bottom of the stairs. Guests will have full access to the apartment including the garden. Other things to note Every year in June, "The Palio della Rivalsa" is held, attracting many visitors and curious people from surrounding places. This palio takes its inspiration from an event that happened in the 1500s, when Ascanio della Cornia, lord of Castiglion del Lago, starred in a singular war episode against the Sienese fort in the Chianina land of Bettolle. According to the author Alessandro Sozzini in his "Diario delle cose avvenute a Siena," on March 8, 1553, Ascanio della Cornia crossed the bridge at Valiano with 300 horses and 2,000 infantrymen, carrying supplies as he headed toward Montepulciano. When the infantry reached the Poggio di Bettolle in Valdichiana, where the castle and more than 40 huts stood, they set fire and burned everything; then, with the cavalry, they returned to camp. The theme of the Palio is therefore to recreate this episode through a Historical Pageant with costumes from the 1500s and a subsequent competition, won by the contrada that first manages to extinguish the fire atop the silhouette of a specially reconstructed castle that is ravaging Bettolle. The historical parade is composed of participants from each of the five contrade (Montemaggiore, La Ceppa, Il Casato, Il Poggio, Le Caselle) and the Pro-Loco Chariot; this parade winds its way through the town streets following an order established by drawing lots, and the parade time is the same for all the contrade.
