Historic Oregon Trail 1880s Farmhouse Cabin

Newly renovated historical OR trail homestead located in the center of a 40 acres property w nearby beautiful view of Mt Hood & plenty of room to explore. Next door cannabis farm has wonderful smells. Close to outdoor activities on Mt Hood & just 30 minutes to Ski Bowl for winter or summer activities. 1st class MTB at Sandy Ridge. Pacific crest trail, Sandy and Clackamas rivers for floating/fishing. Minutes from Estacada lake. 40 minutes to PDX. Beautiful sunsets & wide open spaces. The space The cabin is located at the center of an Oregon trail homestead and is the original residence on the property. It's just far enough away from the farm and owner's main home to be private. In 2017, the property was purchased from fourth-generation settlers, where it was transformed from a cattle ranch to a nursery. While on the cabin front porch, visitors can view of the nursery greenhouses and facility. From the back of the cabin, visitors can watch some of the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Feel free to wander around the 40-acre property but during winter months you may want some mud shoes. The perimeter of the property does have wire fences and a creek so you do not have to worry about wandering too far out of bounds. The creek trail was once one of the branches of the Oregon trail that ran along the back of the property. If you are up and about around 5 am you might get a glipse of a herd of elk that travels on the back lower side of the property from the wooded area across to another creek that runs down behind the cabin to another large grouping of trees. During the summer months you may see the owner starting bonfires. Feel free to come join it! In July and August, there is “all you can pick blackberries”. Bring a container if you want a lot. Around October and November, the nearby walnut tree drops nuts. Please feel free to take them. Guest access Guests are welcome to explore the property, walk through the woods or down the driveway for a view of Mt Hood. Feel free to stretch your legs with a walk around the property perimeter. Other things to note Unfortunately we cannot accept pets. We love dogs and there are some on the property but we keep this space pet hair free for our guests with allergies. Service animals are allowed on the property. Due the rural location, WiFi is Starlink satellite which can be spotty at times when streaming. Tv has Netflix which can take some time to load.
