Hidden at the end of a quiet, leafy lane, Sycamore Shepherd’s Hut is your own private pocket of peace in the breathtaking Durham Dales. Wake up to views across rolling fields & ancient woodland. Sip your morning coffee as deer wander past at first light, and settle in at dusk while barn owls glide silently overhead. Inside, it’s a warm, cosy, thoughtfully styled space designed for slow mornings, crackling evenings, and switching off from the everyday - a special countryside escape! The space Sycamore Shepherd's Hut is a beautifully hand crafted bespoke retreat, featuring a stylish oak interior and an exceptionally comfortable double bed, perfect for a peaceful countryside escape. Inside the hut you’ll find a fully equipped kitchenette with a two-ring gas hob, microwave, small fridge, kettle, toaster and a charming Belfast sink. We’ve thought of everything: pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, cafetière, teapot, glasses, plus complimentary essentials including tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar, oil, salt, and pepper. The en-suite bathroom includes a shower, toilet, wash basin, and heated towel rail. You’ll also find shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner provided, so you can pack light! All bed linen and towels are included, and there’s generous under-bed storage to keep your luggage neatly tucked away. For chilly evenings, get cosy with the log burner (logs provided) or use the radiator. We’ve also provided extra blankets and hot water bottles to ensure your stay is as warm and snug as possible. Step outside to the patio area with Jack & Jill wooden seating and a chiminea, the perfect spot to relax, unwind and enjoy a glass of wine or a mug of hot chocolate whilst taking in the countryside views or watching the local wildlife. On clear nights it's the perfect space for stargazing too. We welcome one small to medium-sized dog, with no extra charge. Please note: while there’s no Wi-Fi, a good 4G coverage is available. Or better still, switch off your devices and immerse yourself in the peace and beauty of nature! Guest access Keys to the shepherd's hut will be located in a key safe; we will provide the code to guests prior to arrival. Other things to note The access road to the shepherd's hut is via an unpaved farm track approximately 0.6 miles long. It’s regularly used by a range of vehicles, so as long as you take it slowly, you’ll be absolutely fine!
