With very few nearby neighbours, it’s a place where you can truly slow down and reconnect with nature. Ideally located for exploring Hamsterley Forest, you’ll have easy access to scenic walking trails, mountain biking routes, and stunning woodland landscapes right on your doorstep. Inside, the hut is warm and inviting, with a stylish oak interior and an exceptionally comfortable double bed to sink into after a day outdoors. Fresh linen and towels are provided, and clever under-bed storage keeps everything neatly tucked away. The thoughtfully designed kitchenette includes a two-ring gas hob, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster, and a charming Belfast sink. You’ll find everything you need for simple meals, along with little extras like tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and kitchen essentials to make your stay feel effortless. The en-suite bathroom features a shower, toilet, basin, and heated towel rail, with complimentary toiletries so you can pack light and relax from the moment you arrive. As the evening draws in, light the log burner (logs provided) and enjoy a cosy night in, or step outside to your private patio. With Jack & Jill seating and a chiminea, it’s the perfect spot for morning coffee or unwinding with a glass of wine as the sun sets. One of the true highlights of staying here is the abundance of wildlife right on your doorstep. Keep an eye out for our resident barn owls gliding silently across the fields at dusk, and wake up to a wonderful chorus of birdsong each morning. The surrounding countryside is home to a wide variety of bird species, along with hares, rabbits, pheasants and other native wildlife. Whether you're an avid birdwatcher, a keen photographer, or simply enjoy the peace and beauty of nature, this is the perfect place to slow down, unwind, and reconnect with the great outdoors. Clear nights also bring incredible stargazing opportunities, making this a truly magical stay. We also welcome one small to medium-sized dog at no extra charge, so your four-legged companion can enjoy the experience too. There’s no Wi-Fi, giving you the chance to fully disconnect, though good 4G coverage is available if needed. Other things to note The access road to the shepherd's hut is via an unpaved farm track approximately 0.6 miles long. It’s regularly used by a range of vehicles, so as long as you take it slowly, you’ll be absolutely fine!
