Built on the Old Walls of the City between the existing Aragonese Towers and the Forte del Carmine. It is located next to the Basilica del Carmine Maggiore, the highest expression of the Neapolitan Baroque. In a privileged position for mobility, it is less than a 10-minute walk from the FS Central Train Station, an 8-minute walk from Metro lines 1 and 2, and a 3-minute walk from the train terminal for Sorrento (and then Positano and Amalfi) and Pompeii. Boats to Ischia and Capri are a 10-minute walk away, as well as the Historic Tourist Center. Below the house there are 4 supermarkets and then the oldest fish market in Naples, where you can find fresh fish at very low prices, as well as historic pizzerias, trattorias, street food and pastry shops. Here the people are friendly and accustomed to foreigners. In the adjacent Piazza Mercato, once Campo del Moricino, since ancient times there has been trade with the peoples of the Mediterranean and foreigners from all over. Città di Mare has undergone cultural influences such as to bring a level of open-mindedness without discrimination of gender, ethnicity and color. Here in this neighborhood you can breathe History and Saltiness, the scent of Ragù and Genovese and then the scent of puff pastries and Babàs... it is a mix of non-patentable essences, a world heritage. The molecule is called Aria di Napoli. Casa Cloen is beautiful, spacious and bright. On the second floor of an ancient building, it has 4-meter-high rooms and thick tuff walls that make it quiet and temperate. Sea-themed architecture, in the last renovation it was decided to use sustainable materials, real wood parquet floors, Vesuvius Lava inserts with Turquoise and White enamels to recall the Mediterranean. The floors are original wooden floors from the period and there are many references to the sea, such as a ceiling compass with the lighthouses perfectly aligned to the 4 cardinal points, sails and canvases, and then furnishings built with parts of boat wrecks (Gozzo Sorrentino) found on the shore of Mergellina. As soon as you enter Casa Cloen, you feel it; if you close your eyes and take a breath, it comes close to you and caresses you. It is the MBRIANA, the soul of the house, sweet, welcoming, like a mother waiting for her children. When you enter Casa Cloen, it is mandatory to greet her, in Neapolitan, however: Bonaser Bell'ambriana mia. And if you're nice, the Munaciello can also come at night and whisper the numbers to play in the Lotto. But I can't spoil anything anymore, live this experience in this house. Guest access The entire house is for guests except for the mezzanine, which is reserved and uninhabited. Other things to note I always welcome guests in person. The house is already in the historic center and is a 5-minute walk from the historic tourist center. The tap water is drinkable and light. If you come by car, you can park on the public street, or in a guarded parking lot 5 minutes from the house with low-cost prices. Sometimes a valet service is also possible.
