Set in a quiet hamlet with its own garden, with parking for 3 cars and is perfectly placed for Glyndebourne, many National Trust properties and gardens (Sheffield Park, Nymans, Wakehurst Place, Borde Hill, Batemans, Knole Park). The Bluebell Railway, the vineyards of Ridgeview, Rathfinny and Bolney are all nearby, as is Brighton and the coast. Piltdown Golf Course is a mile up the road, several good pubs and many good walks on Ashdown Forest, the South Downs Way and the Seven Sisters. The space A newly renovated and well appointed Oast House, which shares a courtyard with the 16th Century farmhouse but has its own garden and parking. Spacious living room with door into garden, well equipped kitchen (with washing machine and tumble dryer) and dining room and cloakroom on the ground floor. Upstairs there are three bedrooms: The principal bedroom has a kingsize bed and ensuite bathroom with shower, the other double room has 2 single beds, and the third bedroom which is well proportioned has a single bed. There is a large family bathroom with bath and shower. Towels are provided along with all bed linen. The historic town of Lewes is 15 minutes away (Anne of Cleves house and Lewes Castle) and as you head further along the coast there is Charleston House, home to Virginia Woolf and the Bloomsbury set. There is plenty to do in the area from good walks on Ashdown Forest or try the South Downs Way, with a stop in Alfriston for a meal at the Star Hotel, or a tasting session at Rathfinny Vineyard. The Bluebell Railway at Sheffield Park now links up to East Grinstead for a day out and there are many National Trust gardens as well as private gardens open under the National Garden Scheme nearby. Uckfield, with its excellent Picture House cinema and restaurant, is our nearest town and is just 2 miles away. Uckfield is host to both Waitrose and Tesco and a M&S Food Store is also close by. There are some great pubs nearby. The Peacock Inn is within walking distance, the Griffin Inn in Fletching, the Laughing Fish in Isfield and the Anchor on the River Ouse. The Oast is only 40 minutes from Gatwick Airport, and has train links to London from both Uckfield and Haywards Heath. Please note we operate a no smoking and no pets policy. Free wifi. Other things to note We do not accept pets/dogs.
