Isabel’s Cottage is owned by Lisa & Ivan. We live just next door. Located on the edge of the Lake District, tucked away in the old part of Great Broughton, on a quiet lane just off the Main Street with lovely walks along the River Derwent right from the doorstep & views over the river & western fells. Cockermouth & Keswick are a short drive away along with the seaside towns of Maryport & Whitehaven & the beaches at Allonby & St Bees. Easy access to the Lakes & the Western Wainwright Fells. The space The Cottage has 2 double bedrooms & 1 full bathroom Gas central heating & wood burning stove Downstairs there is a tiled galley kitchen with oven, hob and extractor Fridge Freezer Washing Machine Dishwasher L'OR Barista Coffee machine Kettle, toaster & microwave Crockery, glassware and cookware, kitchen scales, stick blender, children's cutlery cups, plates and bowls. Dishwasher tablets, washing liquid and fabric conditioner, washing up liquid & hand soap are provided. Dish cloth and tea towels Kitchen roll, foil, cling film sandwich bags Oil, herbs, salt & pepper. Condiments USB sockets There are 3 carpeted steps leading down into the open plan lounge dining area. Wooden laminate floor Wood burning stove, initial logs, kindling & firelighters are supplied. Extra logs are available to purchase Comfy seating & dining area for 4 people 43” smart TV DVD player WiFi throughout USB sockets There are 13 carpeted stairs leading leading up to - Bedroom 1 -Views of the river Derwent King Sized bed with Hypnos mattress. There is a selection of dvds, games, jigsaws and books to enjoy. Cool bag, ice blocks and outdoor tableware Beach towels and mats and kites are provided Washing line, pegs, iron, ironing board clothes airer Torch A welcome pack is provided Up to 2 dogs are allowed. £30 per dog per stay. Wooden highchair, travel cot, changing mat and stair gate available on request. Cot mattress and bottom sheet are provided. Please bring your own cot bedding. Children's cutlery, cups, plates and dishes are also provided. Child's toilet seat and step are also provided Guest access Full house and adjacent garden Other things to note You will need a car. There is a limited bus service to Cockermouth and Maryport, route 68B that stops outside the village store. Distance to Cockermouth 2.5 miles Distance to Keswick 16 miles Distance to Maryport 4.5 miles Distance to Windermere 38 miles Distance to Grasmere 30 miles Loweswater 12 miles Bassenthwaite Lake 9 miles Whinlatter Visitor's Centre 9 miles There is a village shop a short walk away, open Monday to Saturday 7am to 10pm & Sunday 8 am to 10pm. The nearest supermarket is Cockermouth, where you will find Aldi, Lidl, and Sainsbury's as well as a variety of independent shops restaurants and bars. Deliveries are available from local takeaways. The cottage will be decorated for Christmas for stays in December. Please let me know if you don't want these. Great Broughton Children's Carnival takes place annually in July. This year it is on 20th. Many houses in the village are decorated outside for Christmas and there is a designated light switch on day around the end of December each year.
