Stay in this modern, newly modernised bed sitting and bathroom in Stratford Sub Castle, a leafy, historic, picturesque part of Salisbury. The accommodation is attached to host’s home but completely private and self contained. The space The accommodation is part of a large bungalow which was thoroughly modernised and refurbished in 2018 by the host. The guest area was further updated and made completely self contained in 2022 and comprises a bed sitting room with fitted kitchen area, a small hallway leading to an ensuite shower/wet room. See a plan of the accommodation included in the photographs It is a minute's walk down the lane to a picturesque footbridge over the River Avon and the start of a riverside walk into Salisbury. In the opposite direction is a five minutes walk up to Old Sarum which was the original location of Salisbury with remains of a Roman fort, a Norman castle and a Saxon cathedral. Stonehenge is a 20 minute drive away and it is a brisk half hour walk to the Salisbury Cathedral. The local Waitrose is a twenty minute walk away. Guest access The accommodation is attached to the main house and separated by a fire door locked both sides. A path from the car parking area leads to a small gated sitting area and the door to the accommodation. The washing machine is accessed via a door to the garage next to the external door of the bed sitting room. A bicycle can be stored in the garage but there is no room for a car. Other things to note This accommodation is for one person. No bookings are accepted for less than 14 days. It has a 'trundle' bed stored beneath the main bed which could be used for a visitor but the room is too small to be comfortable for two people for an extended stay. There are buses to the centre of Salisbury which run hourly throughout the day but the service starts too late and finishes too early for normal office hours.
