Over 125 years old, the Lodge has been re-designed as a fishing lodge and family retreat. In the summer, there is a beautiful wrap-around colonial-style verandah and swimming in the river off a sandy beach at the bottom of the garden and off an old railway bridge swing. Mature trees in the garden where bald eagles perch provide shade for games in the garden – from croquet to bocce. A barbecue on the verandah and outside dinner table make for a wonderful summer evening together. In the fall, winter and spring, the Lodge is a wonderful launch pad for fishing (and hunting) and exploring the Chemainus river (chum and coho salmon, steelhead and cut-throat trout) and other locals rivers (the Cowichan and Koksilah) and lakes (Fuller and Chemainus). Or simply for a family wanting a cozy time together with wood-burners and beautifully decorated interior for company.
