Description
Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Enjoy the spectacular view of volcanic lakes and mountains Listen and observe the abundant wildlife that surrounds you in this nature reserve, ie frequent sightings of Nicaraguas national bird the Guarda Barranco ocurre. Wonder at the sound of howler Monkeys in the distance Swim in the cristal clear warm waters of la Laguna de Apoyo at one of the many day resorts below Visit the historic town of Granada only 15 min by taxi The space You will find our house is well furnished and comfortable. The view of the Laguna is magnificent especially in the morning and evening. We enjoy the abundant wildlife, especially the birds. We frequently see the beautiful guardabarranco (Nicaragua’s national bird) and a frequent visitor is the fascinating Oropendola (my favorite). Most mornings and evenings you hear and sometimes see Howler monkeys. The climate in Nicaragua is tropical, however typically the temperature we experience at our property is 10º to 15º F cooler than in Granada or Masaya owing to the fact that the prevailing breezes cross two lakes before they arrive at our property. We have installed air conditioning in one of the bedrooms only in case of unusually warm weather. As a rule air conditioning is not essential in our location. We recommend that visitors spend some time swimming and picnicking in one of the day resorts below. (We have our favorite that we can recommend.) The water is crystal clear and warm. You will find plumes of warm water rising from the lake bed. The hot water for our house is solar heated with an electric backup however it takes a little time to get to the shower head so patience is needed. There is room for one car to park in the security of our garage. The television is connected to a dvd player only. We do not have cable or antenna television connected. I hope this extra information is helpful to you. Guest access We have made available all of our house for use by our guests with the exception of two small closets, some cabinet space in the hallway and a small storage room where we store our personal possessions. Other things to note We have air conditioning in one bedroom only as the breezes that cross both lakes tend to maintain our property 10º to 15º degrees cooler than Granada or Masaya. The oven is gas and needs to be lighted with a match or lighter. The washer and dryer are only available to guests that stay more than seven days. Please shake out all dirt and sand from articles before putting in washing machine. For those who wish to have a load of laundry done for them. Lizette will wash a load for $6.00
