Description
Our 19th-century heritage chalet is nestled on Embarras Island, in the heart of Chenal du Doré in Sainte-Anne-de-Sorel, 1 hour and 15 minutes from Montreal. Formerly owned by Berthe Beauchemin, inventor of the gibelotte des îles, it offers an immersion in local history and culture. Built on stilts within the Sorel Islands, this unique habitat of channels, islands and marshes is home to rich biodiversity, promising an unforgettable experience. The space The living area is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors of the house. On the 2nd floor you will find the kitchen, living room (access to the balcony), bathroom and a bedroom with double bed. On the 3rd floor you will find the other three bedrooms and the common area with a washer and dryer. Note that air conditioning is only available on the 3rd floor, but we also have fans for all bedrooms. At the garden level (which is actually a former restaurant), you will find all the equipment for the outdoors (hammock, fireplace, outdoor chairs, molkky game, etc.). Our beloved house is over 160 years old, so it's not so young anymore! We take care of it as we should, but a faucet may need to be tightened ;) In short, be lenient and don't hesitate to write to us if necessary!
