Mommy’s cottage is a quaint space meticulously designed for Roopa’s mother to stay while visiting Marayoor. On days when she is away, we take pleasure in offering this spacious house to our guests. Our houses are unique in their build and carefully tells a story of comfort and barefoot luxury. Mommy’s Cottage is a mud plastered home, designed for aesthetics and comfort. A spacious abode, the cottage caters to long and short stay guests who cherish nature yet seek the sturdy reassurance of a conventional home built with care. Mommy’s Cottage boasts of a large bedroom, an attached bathroom, an outdoor toilet and a walk in closet. For the parents, we have a safe and private lawn where the toddlers can run free. For the lover in you, we have thoughtfully built a spacious Verandah to sleep under the stars. Surprise your partner with a candle light dinner or spend all your evening, reading and absorbing the serene surroundings. A mud plastered home, each corner of the cottage from the upcycled doors to the open washroom, exudes charm and is sure to make you fall in love with the space. The grass thatch roof keeps the interior cool even on hot summer days. Each of the details have been consciously added to welcome you to have the most wonderfully relaxing holiday imaginable. Guest access Guests have access to the lawn space right outside the Mommys Cottage. Here you can let your pets or kids run around freely. The dining and kitchen areas, as well as the garden and garden shed, BBQ and campfire area are shared by all guests. A short 5-minute walk from the property leads to a private viewpoint, offering stunning views of the land. It's a perfect spot to enjoy watching birds, deer, butterflies, and a variety of tiny creatures in all shapes and colors. Parking is available inside the property. Around the property, you can travel with your own private vehicles or make use of cycles available at the property. We can also arrange a cab / rikshaw for your travel needs. Other things to note Kindly note that we are located in a remote village of Munnar, called Marayoor, located 30 Kms away from Munnar town. Tea plantations are 10 Kms away. We are a forest bordered property. Kindly plan your stay with us accordingly. The Mudhouse is a tranquil destination where one can unwind and be one with nature. Listen to the birds singing or at times, in the absolute stillness, the quiet breathing of mother nature. Kindly avoid visiting here if you tend to love loud music and are looking for a party place. Food options are limited but delicious and homely. You can let us know any allergy / religious requirements beforehand. Since we are very close to the forest, occasional insects and small harmless animals, pests etc are common. Our staff are always available to manage the same. Kindly do not hesitate to notify immediately if any being makes you uncomfortable. Please do understand they have as much right to live on our planet as we do. Drones are not allowed inside the property. Kindly let us know beforehand if you have drones with you. For pre wedding / post wedding shoots, kindly intimate in advance (before making the reservation). The host will brief you on availability as well as extra payment details.
